I think we should wait for the Broadmoor open and then make predictions.

I think he will start with the SP. When the SP feels right it will be in the LP. I suspect they will start off training the SP with the quad so that it is always his comfort zone.

I do think we will see it this season, this is in many ways the season to do it. Being US National champ will give him a bit of a reputation cushion so to speak that will make it less painful to take risks.

Do most people put it in the SP first - is it easier?

Wouldn't it be cool if he does it at Broadmoor - could you maybe go see it?

No, most put it in the long, but Jason does things his way. I think they are doing the SP first for endurance reasons/type reason. He can struggle a little with late jumps at times, he made some comments early in the season about working on it. Also, if he botches a quad early in the long, he has to keep his focus for 4 more minutes while with the SP it is shorter. So doing it in the SP lets him practice keeping focus for a shorter period of time. Learn to keep your focus and endurance up for 2 minutes post quad first, and then for four minutes does not seem like that bad an idea.

I think it is seen as more of a risk to put it in the SP, but it is always a risk.

Broadmoor open is scheduled really badly for me so I am not optimistic.

Yes and the fact that when they tested it in the SP at 4CC suggests they might follow the same strategy going forward.

Just as a point of comparison, Nam has 4S in his long all season long with relatively great success; they tried to put it in the short once and it didn't go so well. Of course, everyone is different.

I can now officially lock my hopes/dreams/predictions for Jason's 2015-2016 season music:

SP: Any New wave music (UK; the earlier the better). I'm thinking Duran Duran for a lighter, more "upbeat" feel, or The Smiths/Morrissey for deeper stuff. Then he can do a Madness song with lyrics for the gala!

FS: Liszt - Spanish Rhapsody (or almost any Liszt) (or almost any classical piano piece, really, I'm feeling piano very strongly right now)

Oh and then he must keep the SP for two seasons so that I can see it live at Worlds 2017 :dance:

El Henry I have to totally laugh - I didn't love D10's programs that much but I did love the music & actually live most stuff by the Silk Road Ensemble! On the other hand, I also love the Bach cello suites, especially #2, and especially as played by Mischa Maisky - very non conventional Bach style though. In fact I would love to see someone - Jason, for example, skate a program to #2. It is so hypnotically beautiful and would show him and Rohene in a very different light.

Yes, Papagena, it shows that perfectly reasonable and wonderful people can disagree on music. Suite 2 would be fascinating, with Ma or Maisky. But, if he wants to be lively, Hungarian Rhapsody No. 6 and Martha Argerich, as was posted earlier, would certainly keep the tempo upbeat.

Morriseey (and the Smiths, which he lead) is a bit more nuanced than "shoot me now." There's a bit of humor and wit in his doom and gloom actually, especially in his solo stuff.

Also he has one of the best baritone voices in pop.

It's a bit hip hop and a bit r&b. LeFace records which was the same label as Outkast at that time if I'm not mistaken.

It's a dynamic song that could easily be remixed for skating....if it hasn't been done already. Very easy to clap to.

I'm not so sure he'll go actual hip hop but if he does...than the Fugees "the Score" is loaded with goodies!

It would be pretty cool to if he skated to some old school break beats like "Jump on it". Most of those old tracks have some pretty cool dj remixes that sort of mash up that whole genre of sound. I could see him making his spins look break dancer'ish. A step sequence over one of those conga driven break beats would be pretty mind blowing IMO.
