Jason Brown

Can they all be Champion? That would be best. :dbana:

They used Max in their Olympic season promo, too, and look how that ended . I just don't trust them worth a pinch, especially not if their little golden boy is anywhere near him. My mind just keeps going back to those stats on this year's Nationals PCS relative to PBs/average PCS...The no love that Max was shown. And I don't trust for a moment that they won't hold failing to qualify for the GPF against him!

I think at this point Jason is in a lose-lose situation. If he comes in second or third to Max, there will be people talking about how he couldn't repeat...but if he won, there would be people complaining about that, too. It might be better for him to return to being under the radar a little while he works on getting the quad in and clean. But he is safe. He is still in favour with the USFS. He can finish second or third and Worlds will not be an issue.

Oh, I don't know. I'm just glad I don't have to go to work on the day of the free skate. I'll be a blubbering mess.

I'm so anxious about Nationals I can't even. I hope Jason does really well, but much as I adore him, I think Max needs the title more this year. I trust that Jason will be on the Worlds team whether he's first, second or third, but I don't trust that Max will be unless he wins the thing. And then there's Josh. Please...for my Golden Trio...in Boston...

I actually think Max is in a stronger position than Jason right now, even though he didn't make the GPF. Max has shown enough improvement in both components and landing his jumps this year that his scores have gone up a lot. I am pretty sure they will send him to Worlds, even if he doesn't win Nats - but I think he has a really good shot at the US title, too.

As to Jason....up to his withdrawal from NHK, his quad attempts were still affecting both his consistency on the 3A and really the quality of the whole program - and his scores, which started rising last spring with the 4CC long program - have dropped back a bit. So I think he's looking less competitive internationally than we're used to thinking of him. And that's without even considering the injury. Jason is kind of an unknown quantity at this point - although perhaps USFS has more info about him than we do.

Josh...not sure what to say about him. Sadly, I think someone on FSU said he's been seen coaching at the World Arena but not on the ice.

By the way - I'm not sure when you will arrive in the US for Worlds but did you see that 7K is having a workshop for adult skaters in early March? It would be great if you could go! :)

I saw the adult skater thing and thought of karne too. Didn't you say you were coming to the USA early for high altitude training... was this your plan all along.

I trust nothing that does not come from Josh himself on that front. I refuse to accept gossip.

*gasp*! *flails off to the 7k website*

It was not the plan all along! ;) I had some plans for perhaps taking some jump harness lessons while there - I've never used a harness before - but was mostly planning on freewheeling my training.

Oh - I just saw the dates. A little too early - I won't be in the US by then. Alas. Oh well ;)

I think your Golden Trio is my dream U.S. team....for 2018. At least for right now. I also think Max needs the title more this year, but I think that he needs it more with a GREAT skate.

Back to Jason - I don't think that finishing 2nd will hurt Jason reputation for Worlds. I do wonder about 4CCs, though.

I suspect we will see a 4S attempt at 4CC much like last years 4T attempt.

Aww too bad! I wish I were advanced enough as a skater to do something like that but I'm still struggling with 3 turns and bunny hops! Maybe next year (hopefully it will be a success).

Yes, Max was prominent in the Olympic season promo, but there was nothing at all controversial about Jason going to the Olympics. He had a 10-point lead, and Max himself said that the decision was fair and that Jason skated better.

Sorry, but the idea of USFS not being able to be trusted is just a bit much for me. When I saw them at SA 2013, Max without all of his jumps simply didn't shine nearly the way Jason did. Same goes for 2015 nationals. And I liked Max, then and now. When his jumps are on, it's gorgeous.

But I'm a Jason:love:uber. His skating is gorgeous and thrilling on so many levels, emotionally and artistically as well as technically. Like everyone here I'm hoping his training has been back on track and he's fully recovered. And whether he is up to speed technically or not at Nationals, I know I'm going to love:luv17: watching him skate.

I hope so too Tavi

Never said there was. Of course Jason should have gone to the Olympics. I was merely pointing out that being used in the promo does not mean that a skater is going.

I enjoyed Jason at the Olympics, but that does not mean I didn't sit stone faced, raging inside during the men's short program in the team event...

Sorry, but the idea of USFS not being able to be trusted is just a bit much for me.

When Jason gets nearly ten points higher PCS at Nationals than his average, Joshua gets twelve, and Rippon gets seventeen (!!!), but Max's Nationals PCS is only two points higher than average...

Slight sidebar on this - has anyone else been noticing the promos that NBC has started airing this week for the Summer Olympics? Here is an example. I like the shots of David Boudia and Allyson Felix but the way they showed Michael Phelps and Ashton Eaton is just terrible. I feel like NBC's promos and fluff pieces have been going downhill since about 2006. Which is sad considering how much control (not to mention $$$) NBC has had in Olympic coverage.

I cringed when I saw Jeremy win Nationals that year, cause I knew he wasn't going to skate well in Sochi. I was surprised that Jeremy competed at all last season.

And whichever way it goes, they will be thrilled for each other, I'm sure

I will say that the overall attitude that the U.S. men have had (or at least appear to have, I think at least some of it is genuine) towards each together is a breath of fresh air. I'm not sure if it will make me enjoy watching the men at Nationals more or be more bummed out for whoever isn't going to 4CCs/Worlds this year.

I had not seen this :)

Thanks for posting this here - I didn't realize we didn't have it!

So funny to see hints of the Olympian to come - you can already see his joy in skating and it almost looks like he's attempting a little split jump! What's funniest is the position of his legs and feet at the end, kind of a mini-version of what we see today. :)

Yes, thanks to Tavi again for the original post of baby Jason and Doris for bringing here. I also like the foreshadowing of Jason to come, and that you can see what he haas spoken of: as a young skater, he just wanted to get out on the ice and skate as fast as possible, and Kori had to harness that energy.

Me too, although I'm sure it will be several years or more since I've only just started. But working with that team would be a dream come true!!

HI ALLthanks for sharing the mimi Jason veido dorispulaski its so adorable even back then he shode such promise. I think he will be in the skating world for avery longtime too come witch is agood thing.I am also looking forward too the the next Olympics in the summer cant wait.

Jason's seems to be having a happy holiday!

Jason's post on Twitter and Instagram: (Translation) "Thank you fans in Japan, birthday messages and holiday cards! I am writing a reply hard! So, guys, really love!"

Nice picture that Jason posted of him and his mom on Twitter and Instagram: "Happy Holidays! Hope everyone has an amazing holiday season filled with family, friends, joy, and love!"

What? How can Jason be the top American man? You know how I adore him, but there is no question who the best man in the US is at the moment, and it's not him.

I have to confess it: I don't like the darker hair. It makes his hair look even greasier and unwashed with the amount of product he has to use, and it pales out his skin even further. Also, I have issues with the way Jason's quotes were worded...it almost sounds like it wasn't something he wanted, wasn't really his choice. And Rohene is a fabulous choreographer, but it's niggled at me for some time now...he's not you, Rohene. He'll never be you.

Anyway, Jason's tweets are so upbeat and cute it's impossible not to smile. I'm sure he'll be blazing on all cylinders come Nationals!

I agree. Absolutely.
