Jason Brown

I am so curious to see where he is next season. His programs already looked gorgeous at TCC - will he put quads in both of them? How will his quads look? I'm impatient! :)

I think we will see the quads to be honest. I think it is past the point of theme being scary or a big deal for him to be trying them. He was trying them last year, so i would expect to at least see the 4T in the free.

Luckily Jason does not seem likely to pop a 4T to a 3T so once the 4T is remotely stable, he can likely add it to the SP without too much of an issue/gamble.

I just really want to see his 4S attempt... soon.

Being cautious does not mean we do not love and support Jason.

Would I love to see Jason at two GPs? Yes. Am I going to expect it? NO, because the skating gods are listening and they will smite human hubris!:dev2:

Spousal unit always says he is going to tell the rector of my church what a pagan I am; I tell him she already knows.

... the only thing I've seen mentioning personal bests is that event must use ISU judging system. ....

... Have not been able to find official ISU language stating what I have said above.
But to the best of my knowledge, the only scores that do show up as PBs in official ISU bios and as SBs on the official ISU lists are from the list of comps that I gave above .....

Following up on a conversation from a TCC thread (which I have copied above), in case Tavi or anyone else still would be interested at this point:

Thanks to Mrs. P, we very soon thereafter learned for sure that TCC scores would not count for PBs.

But if anyone still is curious as to where the ISU spells out/buries its official language, today I happened to be looking back at the GP Series announcement (for the 2015-16 season) and realized that page 3 has the passage below re SBs:

A listing of seasonal best scores for each season will be compiled to include the following events:
* ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating and Final
* ISU Senior Grand Prix of Figure Skating and Final
* ISU Figure Skating Championships
* Olympic Winter Games or Youth Olympic Games (if applicable in the year concerned)
* Other ISU controlled events as identified each season by the ISU Council.

(Disclaimer: Although it does not mention PBs, I thought this documentation was worth mentioning.)

@golden thanks for following up! Incidentally, Jason mentioned a couple of times during event that he was excited to have achieved new PBs so I'm wondering if he knew? If not I'm sure he knows now. Too bad, but he'll just have to kick it up a notch next season!

Well, the way I look at them is that while they're not "real' PBs, they are a good indication of what he is capable of scoring with those programmes. Mainly because the jury was international. So while Nats scores can't be counted seriously, these scores are sort of in-between crazy Nats overscoring and regular ISU championships scoring.

If you look at TCC scores overall and deduct around 5 from FS scores and 2-3 from SP scores, I believe that's pretty close to what those performances would have earned in "real" competition. But this is just how I look at it ;)

Jason also answers questions about the the quad, his upcoming trip to Israel and the possibility of choreographing his own program one day. :)

Very enjoyable. Thx, katmari :).

Part 2 (only thirty seconds long) of this interview is on the same channel. Jason talks about his previous happy memories of Spokane and his enjoyment of TCC.

Thanks for the link! At least Jason said there may be some "altercations" (sic ) to the SP costume. I vote for the grey getting in an altercation with the blue squiggle and kicking it off the costume forever.

He could do it as a season long theme of the gray slowly taking over and defeating the... blue squiggle!

I think I would like the SP costume if the light blue part on the front was less pastel - more toward grey or navy. And I would kind of like to see how his Tristan hair looks with it. Realistically, though, they will probably "improve" it with more dazzle on top and down his leg or something (and I'm sure the same fate awaits the FS costume)!

I agree this would be actually probably look good. Just get rid of the outer layer of light blue even. I think the layered look is a bit unflattering... the pastel blue seems to be the number one issue.

This could work... now i want to see it.

Yes... I think this is very very likely. I think you are right and something will be done to the leg.

I couldn't believe my ears @4:40 OMFG!!!!! :eekn: He is COMING to ROME!!!!! Holy crap!!!!! :dance3::hap93::party2: I never thought that would ever happen, Rome is not at all a skating city, if any skaters come to Italy that would always be in the north!! I know he is coming to spend a weekend with his best friend, so probably it would be too much to ask for a "fan meeting", but I hope I can somehow give him some recommendations of the city, since I have been living here for 13 years and know the city very, very well I know lots of great advices which normal tourists wouldn't get!!! But hey still I am not counting out the possibility of "bumping into" him... (I must not be a stalker, I must not be a staler, I must not be a stalker.... :slink: )

Love the little shoulder shimmy he gives when he gets superDUPERexcited about something.
Thanks for posting this. He's like a little dose of Happy every time I watch him skate or talk.

Jason is a very happy go lucky fellow I hope he stays that way for life. his happiness is infectious it makes other people happy.

Absolutely! That's one of the many reasons why I'm a fan of him. His positive attitude makes others feel happy. He has this rare gift of making people smile and be happy by him just showing his personality. You know?

that's right you got too love Jason brown! plus he has a whole lot of talent that can take him a long way too.

While Kori and Rohene are out and about, Jere Michael, who works with Courtney Hicks has been minding the 7k store. (See the Team KoRo thread) This is what he said on Facebook:

"Teaching an edge class with Jason brown in it is a humbling experience! As I believe he is the best figure skater this country has produced. Thank you to 7k for thinking of me to help out while Koro is away!"

More  for Jason!

When you think about some of the skaters the US has produced, that's kind of an amazing statement! Here's a brief SkateGuard interview with Jere Michaels - it includes a clip of him skating - he was quite good. He looks really nice, too.
