Jason Brown

He is. My understanding is that he is only skating at TSC until Glacier Falls. He and Kori just posted a pic together a few days ago saying they are ready to start their 17th season together.
I see, thank you. So no coach change. It's good to hear that.

FYI, Cecily Morrow (the Gustave Lussi acolyte and jumping expert), previously reported to be joining 7K in June, is apparently staying in Lake Placid. She is now listed as a "Satellite Coach" (Huh?) below their staff. See the following and scroll down:

Under the circumstances, Jason's sojourn with Frank Carroll and team in California is even less surprising. He might make further visits to TSC during the season. What do you think?

Maybe she realized she did not want to live in Monument, CO... I can't say I blame her.

That's interesting. I wonder who she will be working with, on what, how often, and whether she'll be in residence at Monument from time to time?

About Jason, I can definitely see a scenario where he works with Frank periodically, but I guess it depends on what their goals were and whether they've been accomplished. If, as we've been assuming, they're fine-tuning his jump technique, it wouldn't be surprising if, at minimum, he goes for periodic "check ups."

I kinda can't believe that after such a long off season, it's only a week + to GF! So excited to see how he looks, what's different, whether he has more power, better control of the 3A, will attempt the quad, etc. I must admit that though I scrutinized in the Sun Valley clips pretty closely, nothing "new" or "different" or "improved" really jumped out at me. Did anyone else notice anything?

I don't really know enough about Frank's current skaters. Do they train with a special jump coach? Does Dice train quads? Does D10 even train much at TSC? oh well....

And I can't even count revolutions, so I will be hopeless at seeing whether the technique is different:biggrin:

And, in important matters, do we really think Jason is curling this much weight?

(And are the Chinese training with Frank? Or in LA? It's just impossible to know everything about everybody!

The Chinese are not training with Frank but with a Chinese coach who is currently living in LA.

Murakami is easy enough to look up results sheets from the past year ... he was doing the quad salchow at the GP final. No idea if he has a jump coach or not.

Oh, really? I would live in Colorado Springs and commute there. I would go back in a heartbeat. Hey Cecily, if you don't want the job, I'll do it! I mean, I don't know anything about teaching quads, but...details, right? :p

Frank was babysitting Brendan at 4CC when Tammy couldn't be with him, and sometimes they work together apparently. I envision Frank as sort of a polisher of technique rather than an innovator, like Mishin.

Maybe he'll get Jason to snap that free leg faster on the triple Axel, like Joshua told him to do so many years ago...

Looking at the development of his body in the last two years or so, I'd wager he's lifting a LOT more than that. ;)

I had to have a melancholy moment the other day, remembering the tiny, scrawny boys I first saw and loved on the Youtube...and now look at these handsome, muscular young men! So now I feel old.

It's hard to tell anything from a clip from an under-spotlights, odd-sized, outdoor rink show. I imagine it will be just as hard to tell anything from a July competition...

I will now resume my role as realist and pre-emptively remind Jason fans that IT IS JULY. Let's not snow him under with OMG HE UNDERPERFORMED IS HE SICK OR INJURED this year

I'm looking forward to GF to see what changes, if any, have been made to Apassionata. That SP was a little flat in places at TCC, I'm keenly interested in its progress. And hopefully Rohene has not had a hand in the costumes again! *bats his hands away*

Mostly I NEED SKATING I AM DEPRIVED :tantrum:

My thoroughly scientific analysis :cool14: suggests that this is a manbun.

Also, redheadkarne thoroughly approves of the natural coppery sheen to Jason's hair. FORBID HAIR DYE.

This might be the most unpopular opinion I ever post on here, but there are few things I dislike on a guy more than the manbun.

But I will say that Jason needs to always keep the medium/chestnut brown hair. No no no to going back to dying it deep dark brown or black.
