Jason Brown

Hey, littlesnow! Welcome to Golden Skate! Post often and post long! Enjoy your stay at the Jason FF! 😁

I became a fan in the early 1990s too. Kristi and Midori were my jam back then! :) Oddly enough far less interested in ladies now, lol.

Hi all! I just joined the forum to express my admiration for Jason! I was a big figure skating fan in the early 90s and especially became a huge Michelle Kwan fan. After Sasha retired I lost interest in the sport. Jason's Riverdance program at 2014 National's drew me back in and I've been following (mainly him) ever since! Rooting him on for the Olympic team!!

Welcome littlesnow! You’ll find more than one of us here who were “brought back” to skating by Jason and Riverdance, which is quite a tribute to Jason and his unique talents.

Although many of us started watching, shall we say, just a little bit before Michelle Kwan;)

I agree it definitely says something about his skating and the fact that it went viral! I was quite young but remember the days of Kristi for sure. Fun story I met Paul Wylie in person! He was probably my favorite male skater. Up until Jason :)

I am a huge fan of Jason's long program. I especially love the music- "Inner Love" by Maxime Rodriguez. Does anyone know where I might find a copy to download?

You're unlikely to; the music was specially composed for Jason. I don't think it's been released publicly.

I don't think this has been posted yet, a fluff piece from KGW-TV on Jason. Where Jason essentially confirms, without winking, that the pony is history after this year....

I will miss you, pony power....:sad21:

This video seems so random! Namely it's from the NBC affiliate in Portland, Ore. -- I've had friends who worked there so I recognized the call letters right away. I find it interesting they chose to feature Jason for whatever reason. It might be a sister station to one of the Denver stations, so maybe that's where they got the rink footage.

As for the hair: I am actually kind of excited about the change, TBH. I know the ponytail is sort of Jason's trademark, but honestly I think a lot of people who are not fans see it as a gimmick and I love the idea of a new look. I think his skating will speak for itself. :)

One thing to do is get one of those commentary-free YouTube videos and use a mp3 ripper. https://www.google.com/search?q=you.....69i57j0l5.1890j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

Be careful though!

I also thought it was random! One thing I wondered was when he did the interview, and where. It was published on 12/13, and since he said he was 22, it was before his birthday. Would he have flown out to Portland?

I guess I’m worrying about him spreading himself too thin right before Nats.

I think all of it was stock footage from the media summit. I doubt he went to Portland. And as I said, it's like the rink footage came from a sister station in coloraldo.

OK, I'm sorry, this has nothing to do with what your post.

Is your avatar now Toddler P with Santa? Squuueeeee!:luv17::luv17:

:) Actually that's Toddler P when she was still Baby P. It's from two years ago -- she was just under six months. :) She's not as chummy with Santa now. Last photo with Santa I had to give her a book to hold and she wouldn't stop crying unless I sat with her. ;)

Has this been posted before? Even if it has, its worth posting again. It’s such a nice profile of Jason!

With Nats coming, I’m also going to repost two of my favorite Jason programs.

2011 FS - Senior Nats Debut:

2013 TEB SP:

That step sequence after the 3z is probably still my favorite piece of Rohene choreography ever, and the way Jason performs it is what made me love his skating.

Merry Christmas (if you celebrate) and Happy New Year, everyone!

Jason is now figure skating's representative in this Team USA fluff piece:

Which Winter Olympian has done the Craziest Toughest Workout

Evidently, Jason was not a fan of aquatic workouts while recovering from his stress fracture;)

The television fluff piece (I am assuming it is the same one, I haven't clicked on them all) is gaining a wider audience. It appears to have aired on KGW (Seattle) and WBIR in Nashville, all with the promo "hoping to bring Hamilton to the Olympics".

Evidently that fluff has been shopped around to sister stations:biggrin:

Greater love hath no fan for her skater....

17 degree weather. Check. Park at ridiculously priced meter in front of arena. Check. Tickets to Stars on Ice, Center Ice, Row 8 on the aisle. Check.

And I just realized that the arena is on Hamilton St. (no surprise, the main drag in Allentown is in fact Hamilton Street). Hamilton on Hamilton. Check.

So happy for you. :hap36:

None of the shows are coming close enough to me to not require an overnight stay in a hotel. I'm hoping one of the performances will be taped and broadcast on TV.

Today is the 7K send-off. I hope some of our Jason fans are able to attend and share their experience. :)
