Jason can speak mandarin too? Or Boyang's English improved ?
They can always get Han Cong to translate, Han's English is reasonably good.

Maybe Boyang knows some Japanese. Or he's learned English. I don't think Jason speaks any Chinese dialect. But learning some would be good for the 2022 Olympics.

I think Jason’s personality overcomes/makes up for any language gap. Boyang and Jason sure seemed to be having a typical Jason let’s have fun moment at that shopping center

That said, it’s just fan amusing guessing game (for me) about giving Boyang the TCC experience. I think Jason is probably just soaking up again the opportunity to see other skaters and train in other places.

And he needs to get back home for his three show SOI stint

Oh come on, I know you are dying for some dancing through Europe videos.

I love Rohene's choreo for Jason but last year I was ready for Jason to explore other sides of his artistry with different choreographers. Unfortunately, I don't think David Wilson was a good fit. I didn't think it was possible for Jason to do a program that was dull and uninteresting but the S&G program proved me wrong, even after it was Jason-ized with the addition of the spiral and split jump. I'm not feeling excited about them collaborating on another program.

I do think David should watch Jason's SP over and over until he figures out why it is universally proclaimed a masterpiece and the program he choreographed is almost universally panned. (I know a few people loved it.)

I did find it interesting that Jason mentioned in the video wanting to skate to music he connects with and I don't recall him saying anything like that before. It makes me think he's recently skated to music he didn't connect with, probably S&G. If he reacts as negatively to a new music suggestion as he did when he first heard S&G I hope he goes with his gut instinct this time and rejects the suggestion.

I would like to see a LP start without the quad attempt first. When he did Riverdance he started with an easier jump to become used to the ice and ease into the program. Now, the music starts, he does an opening pose to set the mood, then everything goes on pause while he does the quad attempt and, once that's over, the real program begins.

It's been on my wishlist for a few years that Jason try one or two easier jumps and get really warmed up before attempting the quad. He's overthinking it. The adage is, "skate dumb" and he doesn't skate dumb into the quad. He has too much time to think about it. His training goes out the window and he doesn't follow it.

We'll hope for the best with the two programs for this coming season. I'm planning to be at Worlds and I want Jason to be there!

I thought the same thing when I heard him mention doing programs he can connect with - it was so clear he connected with the SP and not the long.

To some extent, I think he back tracked last year from trusting his instincts. It’s kind of ironic, because he really had to trust himself to make the change to TCC - but once he got there, he quite naturally wanted to be open to his new team and new ways of doing things.

Some of that was hugely successful - despite his continued struggles with the quad, the quality of his skating and jumps has improved by leaps and bounds, and his new look, which continues to evolve, is really great (and this is from someone who adored his man bun).

I hope the FS taught him that in being open to new ideas, experiences, and ways of doing things, you should still trust your instincts. I know it was intended to help him grow, and there were a few lovely moments, but it seemed like he convinced himself to “love” it rather than ever truly connecting with it. It still boggles my mind that no one at TCC, including David Wilson, had much of a sense of what he could do. I really hope that changes this year. And if the collaboration this season still isn’t successful, I do hope he’ll try someone else.

I think Rohene is an amazing choreographer - one of the most creative and musical I’ve seen in skating - so I personally hope Jason continues to work regularly with him. Until he left Monument, it seemed like maybe Rohene had too much control over the music choices and direction he was going. But I think the fact that this season Jason chose the music and knew Ro was the right choreographer changed the dynamic and resulted in a fantastic program, and I’m hoping the fact both of them have since gone on to new experiences bodes well for future collaboration in which Jason is an equal partner.

My biggest takeaway from the fan club interview is that he hasn't really started thinking about his new program music yet. That had me slightly cringing. I was just hoping that at least one of the programs might be under development . OTOH I'm thrilled that he's going on vacation with his siblings. That kind of closeness is very special. He's a lucky guy.

Rohene is a great choice once again. He just knows how to bring out the best in Jason and to emphasize his musicality
I hope as Wilson now had nearly a year to get to know Jason's skating and his personality that he will create a more suitable program for him. I loved the second part of the S&G program, but the first part was kind of sad and murky and I feel like it affected Jason's mood and skating. He would always be much more into the program during the second half imo
Starting the FS with an easier jump would be a great idea to warm up as you guys mentioned!!!

I've noticed that Jason isn't making videos as much as he used to when he was still in Colorado. I think he has a more interesting social life in Toronto, and doesn't need to fill time with making and editing videos. But I always liked the dancing videos. I thought his family members were good sports to dance around for a video. I'm sure he'll post some photos. He didn't even make videos for US Figure skating this year, which he was planning to do. He's busy! And that's a good thing! Being busy, having a purpose and having fun is what a 24 year old should be doing.

That said, I hope that he posts more actual content about his music choices, choreography etc. That would be great to see!

That opening triple flip is just perfection! The 3Lz3T has the nicest Lutz edge Jason has ever shown! The 3A is very good too.

And he is doing better with his loop too (FS)

That is a lot of improvement in 4 of the basic jump techniques in one season...
