I don't think the 2 years were wasted. They were working on other things with him and they were giving him time to grow into the skater he wanted to be. S&G was not steller and I agree he never connected to it, but It did allow him to stretch and grow. The partnership between Ro and Jason is kind of legendary. He always had great short programs. But he learned to work with someone else and to deal with less than perfect situations. From the judges perspective, he showed them two distinct skating styles and gradually won them over without a quad. Tracy was there to improve his technique. The goal was Beijing 2022. Despite many obstacles that could have kept that goal from being met, they met that goal. Wilson's programs were less interesting, but they did emphasize character development and I think that was important. Keep in mind, Jason had just come off Inner Love when he got to Toronto. They decided to change his style and they did. I don't think S&G and Slaughter will be remembered much, but Schindler will and that's what counts. Riverdance and Schindler make incredible book ends for the past 9 years.Hi A - agreed. David did a poor job with those programs and I also blame Tracy for not doing anything about it. She had seen many of Jason’s previous performances and had to know that he wasn’t happy with what they were doing. He was too polite and didn’t complain. You could see the look on his face at those competitions and know Jason wasn’t happy. That had to show in practice. He wanted to please his coaches. He never wanted to do S&G and agreed to try it. Big mistake. He didn’t like the music and they should have listened to him. It did waste 2 valuable years of his career. Look at the beautiful exhibition programs Rohene made for him after that.

(see my earlier post where it now says "removed or broken". Well, it was there earlier, so it's not broken)
