Javier Fernandez

Here you have two videos of the moment :cheer:

In general, he thanks everybody from the village and especially his family. We, Spaniards, nearly always have a home town where part of our family lives, so the ones who live in the city (Madrid, Barcelona, etc) spend the majority of our summer holidays staying with the family in our home town. For this reason, Javi says that Navalacruz is very special for him because he had stayed so much time with his family and friends, as it is the place where one of his grandmums lives. He also says that he didn't know until very recently that there was a surprise for him in Navalacruz as it was a prepared surprised. Hope you love the videos as I do :cheer2: :points:

Thank you so much for the pictures and the videos! He looks incredibly happy and the people in Navalacruz seemed so excited to have him there (look at the faces of the kids!). His skating camp starts tomorrow and then he'll go back to Toronto for training, the best of luck to Javi!

new (?) interview of Javier from finanzas.com, some good pictures including Javi wearing tights  i love the last picture:love:

Thank you matmuh! (ITA, the picture in the green outfit is awesome) Although it technically says it's a new interview, it's basically the same questions he's been asked before (I've come to think it was an interview with various reporters since the answers are also very very similar to some in the past). Though there were a few new things, like how is not likely he'll be doing 4 quads in his free because then the program could be too marred by mistakes. And how he's not 100% sure he'll retire after the Olympics, he wants to wait and see if he keeps competing, goes pro, or retires altogether.

thanks xibsuarz for translating, i agree that 4 quad program isnt likely but i think he might consider adding 2nd 3A
i am hoping for Javier-Yuzuru ice show touring the world after they retire

I was thinking that it seems like he just gets asked the same questions over and over again. He must have the patience of a saint! I wish people would ask him more about his interests outside of skating, for example. Even the most dedicated skaters have lives outside of the sport.

The photos are great, though. Green is a nice color on him.

Thanks @xibsuarz for translation! Yeah, 4 quads are unlikely even if he is a mester of quad. His remrks about his retirement is like yuzu's. It will be hoped that Jave keeps coming to Japan for the shows.

New interview :) New questions! Though some are very weird like if he would ever use his skates as a weapon
He said he's not worried about being the World Champion because it's something that he already achieved that is way beyond what he imagined. So he'll try to win again but if it doesn't happen it'll be okay. And when he's tired of skating he fuels himself with a glass of beer

thanks!
Javi: The Shiny Hat:laugh:
yeah that is a new question
i am glad he isnt worried about being world champion, i think its in his nature to be relaxed and cool. of course competitions get to anyone mentally but he did great job so far

I love how he is so human and stays positive whatever happens  Thanks for insight of this interview, xibsuarz :)

Well, I'm glad they asked him some different questions for a change. I used Google Translate, and one of those questions was rather shocking  (the language they used, I mean)! And then the part about Julio Iglesias? :laugh2:

Hahaha in Spain people make a lot of jokes about Julio Iglesias but in a good mood, one time he said that he had been with more than 1000 women, since then, people says that 'Julio Iglesias is God' and things like that
