C2: (Laughs)
J: And he told me "Because I'm very happy, because you've deserved it, because you've been working hard". But I don't know, I was like, "Ehm, poor kid, don't cry on me." Right? "I should be the one crying instead of you." but yeah, that's what he told me in general.

they are so funny and cute together and because Javi is like big brother to yuzu, even if he won he still had to take care of his lil bro :laugh2:

I think more like young dad to his oversize kid. :laugh2: Poor Javi he is so matured but too sweet so he spoiled his "kid" too much. To be honest at the beginning of this season I already had the feeling he would win WC because he is at his peak. I am so glad I guessed it right. Now I wonder how will he do next season, will he stay in GP or will skip it? Poor Javi he said he wanted to have a long rest but he hasn't have a chance.

Oh my gosh yeah. I remember him saying that he wanted to skip GP this season but couldn't because it was held in Barcelona. And now again... :laugh: Although I don't think he would skip it anyway. Not with this newfound determination and drive!

Thanks so much for the translation! That was such a lovely and funny interview. Especially the joke about the spy. It's so rare for top competitors to be genuinely good friends. But the more I discover about Javi and Yuzu's characters, the more it seems like it could be no other way. They balance each other out so well. Javi in particular - I couldn't imagine him developing a personal rivalry with another skater that continues outside of competitions.
 
That part was funny. He actually didn't hear it until Denis told him. Even funnier when he told Denis he is half Japanese. Yuzu then said he is from Spain with Javi said he is from Japan lol.

CBC's Scott Russell interviewed Javi during their broadcast of the gala:

- He sees winning Worlds as a step in his career, more than seeing it as the culmination. So hopefully we'll see that 3-quad LP clean next year, and more success. :cheer: (GPF title anyone?)
- He's a Real Madrid fan. Sorry, Messi. :biggrin:

There is actually a chance that Javier and Iker Casillas (Real Madrid's goalkeeper) are cousins. They're not sure but they've said it's possible since they both come from the same small town (well Javier's from Madrid but his family is from that town), were a lot of people are related in some way.

ohh wow that so hilarious, especially Adrian, congratz to the person who decided not to watch javi but take video of them instead :laugh: btw did anoyone else spot hanyu's mom in the video?? is it creepy to regocnise her? :slink: :laugh:

Ah, I didn't see her until you mentioned it. She looks so worried... I suppose she must have been feeling so worried for her son that that may have been all she could think about all competition long :(

In general I would say no, but all the women in that either look Caucasian or younger than Hanyu. I guess good genes run in the family cuz if mommy Hanyu was in that shot, dayyyyyyyyyyyym she looks good for having a 20 year old son!
