Javier Fernandez

It’s a shame that he couldn’t skate clean, but still awesome! Watching his performance, I can see well how he’s worked hard and tried to improve himself. Further, this program is very very difficult. His jump like a spring makes me happy. What’s more, I can feel more and more potential from him.

Further, his press conference is so thoughtful. His English is fluent and it tells us the years he's spent far away from his homeland since he was younger. Years and years, he’s kept doing what he should do about skating. I’m a bit sentimental about him.

Just pray for his wonderful FS!:yahoo:

Well, it didn't go quite as planned but is was good nonetheless. The pressure's a bit off so perhaps that can help him deliver a wonderful FS on Friday
And I just watched the press conference, he's such a gentleman offering to switch places for the Japanese translator.

An article was posted on Yuzuru's thread and, although I don't trust google translate much, it says Javi sustained an injury during practice on his right ankle? Can someone confirm?

Overheard on practice ice - Javier Fernandez left practice yesterday with an ice pack on his right ankle

I watched the periscope. He skated through his jumps. I'm kind of worried...but maybe he's saving all his energy for the real thing, if his ankle is feeling bad, he doesn't want to wear it out now.

Thank you very much! Hope the ankle will uphold him through free skate.

Awesome by Javi. The opportunity was there and he made no mistake and took it. Great job.

Remember that epic "Patrick vs. Hanyu" thread? I naively asked why people didn't take Javi into consideration, being the world champ and all, and got some very arrogant replies more or less implying his win was a fluke and Patrick, Yuzuru, & Denis would surely dominate this season. I wonder if any of those posters are eating their words now.

CONGRATULATIONS JAVIER! You are not second (or third) fiddle to anyone now. You are as good as anyone in the world and you've proved it twice! And it's so much more fun to watch the men when there is a real rivalry and not just one skater dominating (although I love Hanyu too, of course). Hope he has an amazing victory celebration with Miki now. :)

Congratulations, Javi - 2-time World Champion! So well deserved - flawless skate! I'm totally exhausted from all the emotions...
