Yeah, agreed. I like her commentary a lot. Just her voice being more pleasant is a big plus. In her comments, she's just much more diplomatic and ... kind than Nancy was. Plus, she knows her material a lot better, and apparently she can watch, think, and talk all at once, which Nancy really seemed to flounder at.

Is Nancy commentating at all? She must have given birth recently, right?

Listening to Nancy is like listening to screech on the chalkboard. Now they need to get rid of that male commentator. He is so dull and has added absolutely zero value to the live broadcasting. It's a completely waste of money.

I am not sure...I haven't heard anything from Nancy in a while actually. She gave birth back in May, so I'm sure she's probably pretty ready to get back into commentary if she wanted to.

I think the new commentator is very nice because she has a gentle tone like a very caring mother or coach, and she doesn't demean the skaters at all in that way, even when she offers criticism.

DeeDee Leng! Skating really strongly, 3Z, 3T-2T, 2A, all very high jumps. Horrible warm-up, bad fall on the 3Z, she looked nervous. Good of her to fight back. Some very nice spin positions, especially in the layback, very fast, good Biellmann. She looks a lot like a friend of mine (much younger of course). Into first place! She was a real fighter, fought for all her landings, good for her. She looks so much better than a year or two ago.

One thing she needs more practice on though... her final bows. She was nearly tripping over herself, heh.

Um, she's in first place. Hardly out of shape. I'd say the fact that she managed to do better competitively this year than last -- in spite of the body changes -- bodes pretty darn well for her.

What are you talking about?! DeeDee is not out of shape by any stretch of imagination, and she jumped really well. The only thing she needs to watch out for is her shoulder hunch, which was obvious during warm-up and also final bows, but not so obvious during her skate. It's good that she remembers to straighten up during her skates, but she should not forget it off the ice either.

It looks like DeeDee will lead going into the LP. Marisa Secundy looking very tentative for her SP, good 3R-2R and 2A, but popped lutz, and some awkward positions throughout the program. Not enough stretch or confidence or speed...

Wow, requiring the lutz as the triple jump is really rough. It really divides those who can do 3Z to those who cannot. The ones who landed good 3Z's scored around 50, and those who didn't are in the low 40's, no matter how good the rest of their program.

1. there is no puberty monster, there is only the healthy physiological process of growing up - called puberty
2. before puberty it's girl, after puberty we can talk about ladies
3. if puberty is considered damaging - something is really wrong with this society / sport
4. she was so slim one year ago, and now, after being "damaged" she is not slim anymore? So very slim = wholesome, having some meat on your bones = "damaged" goods?
5. since she is currently leading the competition with a decent score, she can't be that out of shape
