Kanako Murakami

Thank you for sharing. Oh, how I wish for Kanako to do well at Nationals. I know, in my heart, it is probably over for her. But it still hurts.

Haha, Shoma...but chibi-Kanako is also adorable!

Good luck to Kanako at Nationals. The last few times I've seen her, she just seems like her heart isn't in it. It was fun to see her at Skate America, although she finished 10th out of 11.

I hope she has a good outing and meets whatever goals she has set for herself. Hopefully we will see her beautiful smile!

I really like her short program, and I am sorry that she missed that 3F. But I like that she smiled at the end of the program. I cheer for her in the long program. Go Kanako!

According to this article, Kanako has stress fracture on her left foot and has been getting treatment all this month. Good job for delivering a clean skate tonight.

She will graduate soon from university in 2017 spring and will discuss her future with her coach.

I'm afraid that she will retire (very) soon. Her performance and postperformance was so emotional ... like a farewell.
Kanako pls. go to the 2017 Winter Universiade in Almaty. Don't retire yet :sad4:

Kanako's FS was my favorite program of the event. She put 110% emotion into it and I burst into tears along with her I was so swept away by the performance. Brava Kanako:love:

So happy for Kanako. Great FS. Her smile lit up the whole rink, and her celebration with her coaches was so sweet! Congratulations! Hard to believe she did that beautiful skate with a stress fracture. :clapper:

Its understandable since it must be so difficult for her considering her condition and the current landscape of ladies. I just want her to be happy with what she put out on the ice. :clapper:

And good job Kana for being able to keep up with your studies full time! It couldn't have been easy.

I just watched Kanako FS and WOW! Very moving and beautifully skated program, loved it!

Kanako and her coaches reaction was priceless!

I hope she will go as well, didn't she win last time? It would be nice for her to end her career on a last victory. Even if the competition is not the biggest one, it will still be a tough one, considering other skaters like Elena and Liza will go as well.
Even if she doesn't win, to end with a smile (and eventually happy tears) is probably the one thing she wants.

The FS at Nationals made me emotional and teary.... What a good fight for Kanako!

Kanako!
I was so impressed with your performance of FS! Detailed and refined expressions, passions… This is definitely one of the memorable performances of all Nationals…
It was a hard time to see you in the past seasons, but you already tried to show Kanako smile. You really are a lovely and matured lady.
I believe in you, which way you will choose in the future!

Motivational coach. Just watch her in the KnC in the future, cheering her students on, instead of showing a stone face.

I was getting emotional just watching Kana, Yamada, and Fluffy hugging each other in the K and C.

Kanako`s message to her fans posted on her website translated by sunshineprince on Tumblr:

Thank you so much for the support at All Japan Championships.

In short program, I did one big mistake and I had a big frustration in my heart because I couldn`t show my best.

But on the other hand, I swore to myself that in free skating I would a performance that would stay in people`s hearts, and I was able to show all I have for now!

As an athlete, it wasn`t an easy decision for me to simplify my jump content, but what I want more is that people recognize my own style, so the thing I focused at practices the most was my expression. And I`m really happy that I was able to show this!

Also, I am really thankful for fans who always support me and helped me to show my best!

My next event is Nagoya Festival.

The prohibited for a long time Kakigori has now became permitted, but I`ll be careful not to gain weight! :D

Have a good year, everyone!

I just watched her glorious FS! She is such a sunshine! :luv17: I'm very happy for her that she could end the Nationals on high note! I'm sure it will give her a motivation for next season :)
