Kaori Sakamoto

I believe Serafima Sakhanovich has done this combo before, and there are a few skaters doing 2A+eu+3f, so it isn't unheard of, but it's still very uncommon, and it's impressive that Kaori can do it and make it look easy

Serafima has done it
Tarusina and Vasilieva do 2A-1Lo-3F
Tarusina used to do 3Lz-1Lo-3F

But I love seeing Kaori do it! And I think she's the first non-Russian lady to do it

kaori is too beautiful on the cover of Vogue magazine, I read that eele tries the 3A? I would have preferred that she focuses more on the artistic

Yes Kaori!!! Her programs always get better as the season goes on, this was defonitely her best performance of this sp yet, and what a time to do it!!!

Not the biggest Kaori fan, though I love her but just saying... that 3Lo cures depression and provides healthy crops for all humanity

I want to say that I was deeply moved by Kaori's skating today. She truly delivered some magic. I am looking forward to her FP on Friday :luv17:

Soooooo proud of Kaori for her excellent short program yesterday!! I'm crossing my fingers for her -- a world medal is within her grasp, and I want it for her so very badly! The smooth beauty of her skating and jumps is definitely world medal worthy.

Kaori:sad4:Such a shame about the flip, it cost her a medal, but in the end, she has had a wonderful season- Qualifying for GPF, winning Japanese Nationals, and Qualifying and finishing top 5 at Worlds. I saw an interview with Kaori from October, right before Skate America, and she said her goals for the season were to make gpf and worlds, which she did. I can't wait to see what she does next season, but I already know it will be wonderful

Kaori received the highest mark of all ladies for Skating Skills! 9.25 compared to Evgenia's 9.18 and Alina's 9.11. Unfortunate mistake, but Kaori looks even more determined for next season :agree:

unfortunate pop, but overall this was a strong showing for Kaori with a new PB, and it seems like the judges are finally rewarding her with higher PCS :) excited to see what the future will hold for her! I know it's early to be thinking about next season, but I hope Benoît will choreograph for her again, her FS fits her so well.

While I wish the medals to all three winners, I must say I'm little sad for japanese ladies and most for Kaori. If there is one I can highlight among them, it's her. It is thrilling yet sad at once that with the score 222.83 yuou will not reach the podium, that's how high is the level of ladies figure skating and Kaori is among the best members of this world. She can be pround of her skates during this championship.
