Kazuki Tomono

Thanks, from what I saw from reports, he talks about his SOI experience, including interactions with Yuzuru Hanyu 🐐
He also confirmed he's in Toronto for choreography :love2: but didn't reveal with whom and what is the programme. We'll have to wait a bit longer, it seems!

There was also a new Mainichi article published, with the theme 'Balancing art and competition'
As usual, behind a paywall... 😭

Thank you! What a cute article.

Non-no also published some extra pics from the trip he took with Koshiro and Sota to Asakusa :love2:

Meanwhile, Kazuki has been spotted on Minsol Kwon IG in Toronto 🥺❤️

Now, this is interesting info... We know that Kazuki is in Toronto for choreography, and now we know he's at the Granite Club 👀

And Jeff Buttle put up a pic w Mai on Insta..waiting..waiting..

I wonder how much longer he’ll be in Canada? The suspense builds! Will he do another rock and roll bad boy like performance as an exhibition? Time will tell. This past season was incredible and I have a feeling this upcoming season will be amazing too for Kazuki. He’s gonna do it. I hope he continues to skate for a few more seasons.

AAAAAAAAHHHHH I'm so excited to see this, Jeff's choreo is one of my favourites :love2:
Hope we don't have to wait too long for the music announcement. Maybe he'll even perform it next week at FaOI!

@Figskater23 I don't think we'll have another rock number for his EX, as his gala numbers tend to be very distinctive from year to year! I don't know what he'll do, but I think he'll surprise us again.

I wonder when he will get together w Misha?
Good question. He's performing at FaOI next week, then he'll have a break of about a month until he next scheduled show (DOI). So I'd say it'd be more sensible go to California for the FS choreography after FaOI.

However, since he's already abroad he might want to get the FS done before FaOI? It'd be very tiring, but give it's Kazuki we're talking about, it's not impossible!

I was trying to figure out his schedule! He is non-stop! I am so happy that Kazuki is getting praise from so many retired great skaters..Jeff, Jeremy Abbott, Kaitlyn Weaver..as well as Vincent, Evan Bates, etc.

https://www.instagram.com/reel/CsiW2XDg35u/?igshid=MTc4MmM1YmI2Ng== Instagram reel of Kazuki, Koshiro and Sota sidenote Johnny Weir is in Japan for the show..so assuming Kazuki is also there..for show practice..
This IG reel is so cute 🥺❤️
I agree, I think Kazuki is back in Japan, judging from the time he shared this reel on IG. That makes me feel relieved, hopefully he'll be able to go to California in June after FaOI.

They use forks there, is that common or more an option nowadays?
I think it's because they were in a Western-style restaurant! They were eating spaghetti and stew, which would be tricky to eat with chopsticks 😅

Meanwhile, saw this cute article: https://www.tokyo-sports.co.jp/articles/-/264052
DeepL translation:
Figure skating: Kazuki Tomono's "love for his hometown" that sponsors sympathized with, has borne fruit in his activities outside of the rink.

Behind the Scenes Field Note: Kazuki Tomono (25, Uenoshiba Skating Club), a men's figure skater, continues to fight with his heart for his hometown.

Last season, his contract with a sponsor company ended before the season started. He chose the Uenoshiba Skating Club, where he had been a member since junior high school, as his new affiliate, but struggled to find a sponsor. Nevertheless, he placed 3rd at the All-Japan Championships last December, winning a ticket to the World Championships on his own for the first time. After giving up the "god of substitution," HD Flower Holdings, headquartered in Tomono's hometown of Sakai City, Osaka, was launched. After a series of internal and external discussions, the company concluded a sponsorship agreement with Tomono in March.

A representative of the company said that Tomono's "love for his hometown" was one of the factors in their decision to support him. Tomono is very protective of his hometown," said a company representative. He says he is a Hanshin fan, and I can relate to the way he introduces local food on Instagram. I was struck by the fact that he thinks about his hometown more than anyone else and has taken action to help it.

While Tomono is preparing for the upcoming season, he also wants to "contribute to the local community," and is currently planning an event with the company. Details are still being worked out, but a company representative said, "We are a group company that deals with flowers, so we would like to hold a workshop using flowers together. Also, we are planning to hold events related to skating and talk shows, since we have a good storytelling ability.

Tomono, who continues to be active outside of the rink, is also looking forward to achieving even greater heights in his main business. After the World Team Trophy in April, the last competition of last season, he said, "My weakness still comes out in difficult competitions. I need to improve my strength more and more. The expression on his face, which showed more frustration than fulfillment, was a premonition of his evolution.

The "Naniwa Entertainer" took the next step forward with reliable support. What kind of performance will he show us next season after overcoming all the twists and turns? We can hardly wait for the season to arrive.
