The fourth pic is interesting... We already know Kazuki is playing young Kakeru, so will Koshiro be playing young Tokio too, and that girl in the picture will be playing Kana's character?

Yes, I think so too. :) I had a suspision that Koshiro would be young Tokio after the revelation about Kazuki, but didn't know, if there would also be a young Yuki. It looks like Ayumi Urabe has been chosen to play Kana's younger version!

Some more updates from the Hyoen training camp - hope Kazuki is having loads of fun!

It seems that Dai-chan confirmed this on a IG story yesterday, but it quickly deleted, so I couldn't see for myself.

🙀🙀🙀

No info yet re: if/when/how it will be sold... Some fans are worried, saying they can't afford to buy property in order to get the acrylic stand 😅

Meanwhile, remember that Kazuki wrote on Sauna Bros about his experience at SAUNAS, including something called aufguss:
"At KELO, which is also in WOODS, we were treated to the same self-lovely sound as last time. From there, at 9.30pm, Aufguss was finally going to start, and we said, "Yay, we can enjoy Aufguss with that great sound quality!" So the three of us bravely headed for SOUND. Kentaro Shibata was in charge of Aufguss, and from the very first greeting, "I'm looking forward to working with you", I thought, "This guy can do it!" I think there are times when you can tell that someone is not an ordinary person from their everyday appearance in any field, and I had a gut feeling that Mr Shibata is someone who takes pride in Aufguss.

--Shibata-san is an aufgusser who creates heat waves all over Japan and is also the manager of Shibuya SAUNAS. How was it? The aufgoose of a master of the art.

'Of course it was comfortable, but Mr Shibata's aufguss were so shocking that I was even moved. 'My name is Shibata. I have chosen three songs related to cherry blossoms because they are in full bloom at the moment' and 'I have also prepared an aroma related to them'. I guess the desire for the audience to enjoy themselves is common to all Aufguss performers, but I thought everything was different."

So yesterday, Shibata-san himself tweeted about Kazuki:

SAUNA BROS. published an article about figure skater Kazuki Tomono's visit to Shibuya SAUNAS Thank you so much for such a detailed report!! And thank you for accepting my Aufguss
Kazuki has liked the tweet, I bet he was really happy!

So, I ran the word 'aufuguusu' through the Japanese Wikipedia, and learnt something new: https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/アウフグース (works well with Google Translate)
Apparently, it's the art of diffusing steam evenly all over the sauna :) They even distinguish special types of that activity, depending on how you use your towel!

And man, Kazuki really enjoys keeping us on our toes re. his programs. Patience is a virtue, I know, but the wait is long... ;)

Oh, interesting that the word "Aufguss" is known and used in other cultures! It is the German word for pouring cold or hot water over the hot stones of the sauna stove to intensify the heat with the help of the resulting steam. It’s a very common practice in German/European saunas. In Central Europe essential oils/aromatic substances are often added to the Aufguss-water, which then unfold as a fragrant scent. It’s a very relaxing experience! 😊

The official Hyoen twitter account has started posting clips of cast members counting down the days until the show opens. Today it was Kazuki’s and Koshiro’s turn to let us know that there’s 9 days left:

Right? :drama: I'm not expecting announcements until July at the earliest... Remember on Sota's IG live, he said 'Kazuki is very busy right now' - I reckon Kazuki has been focusing on the preparations for Hyoen (acting and voice lessons, for example), as it seems he's been entrusted with a lot of responsibility and he's never done anything like that before.

To be fair, in general there haven't been many music announcements... Everyone is probably waiting for the outcome of the ISU congress next month.

It could be too, that he's already preparing for Fantasy on Ice Tour B. There won't be a "natural chairman" will there? I don't know if Jeffrey Buttle will be the group numbers choreographer, and if he would work well with Kazuki Tomono, but it seems to me that he has that sense of entertainment which could give sense to the usually delirious opening and Finale costumes, which in Tour A only Yuzuru Hanyu could pull off creditably, with the best performers following him just behind and the rest of the cast trying to. (In this respect, I believe that, had Sota Yamamoto been cast for Tour B, their contrast in projection while getting along so well, could be exploited to bring a special energy to group numbers.) Of course Stéphane Lambiel has some leading energy and very good performance but?

I think it's definitely going to be interesting to see the dynamics in the FaOI B tour - IMO there is no clear 'leader' but several possibilities: experienced pro skaters such as Keiji, Stephane and Javi; or maybe they will go with Kaori as the main focus since she's the three-time World champion.

In any case, I think you're right and it's possible he's been busy with FaOI preparations as well, especially as I read there are rumours he will also do a collaboration number. He won't get much time to rehearse in between Hyoen and FaOI so it'd make sense to prepare beforehand.

Meanwhile, another cute illustration, this time based on the Hyoen visuals:

The new WS list doesn't reflect the skills of the skaters accurately. Kazuki's a much better skater than several men above him... but unlike them, he didn't have the opportunity to tick all the boxes. This time it was because of no big championship, last year there was no second B event for him. It's disappointing. I wish all skaters who are healthy enough had the opportunity to compete in all of the events, especially the B events, and I hope for split WC/4CC teams in the upcoming season. In the case of Japanese singles, it's important to let multiple deserving skaters gain experience a big events. Kazuki doesn't need experience at this point, but his skating deserves exposure. The gap behind #16 and #17 in the WS is quite telling.

Thank you for sharing! I absolutely love everything about this IG reel: the soundtrack, the poses, the expressions, and the caption is really sweet:
The third special video of \Daisuke Takahashi and Kazuki Tomono\!

We present to you the video clips of Daisuke Takahashi and Kazuki Tomono, who appeared in the July/August issue of Non-no, which is now on sale.

They have performed together in ice shows many times before, but this was the first time for them to be together for a photo shoot like this, and they were both very nervous.

Mr. Tomono, in particular, seemed to have some resistance to sitting cross-legged in front of Mr. Takahashi, a senior whom he admires, even when posing, and he even appeared to be afraid during the photo shoot for the cut on the last page.

When asked to try sitting on the floor next, Mr. Tomono unintentionally sat upright. Seeing this, Takahashi-san burst into laughter, and the mood on set was friendly from start to finish 🫧.

The two of them looked so cool that I was surprised, but the moment the shutter stopped, they dashed to the monitor (🏃🏼) to check the photos. I was healed by such a gap between the two of them, lol.

Since the two are accustomed to being photographed on a regular basis, the shooting part was finished earlier than planned 👏, allowing for plenty of time for the conversation.
They talked about nostalgic memories, days spent at the ice show “Kassouya,” and their envisioned future. It was impressive to see Mr. Takahashi's warm eyes as he gently chimed in on Mr. Tomono's words from beginning to end.

Since they do not usually have a chance to talk in a formal setting, Mr. Tomono took this opportunity to ask Mr. Takahashi some questions he would like to ask him.

They also told us some unexpected episodes from their college days, and recommended ways to enjoy figure skating for those who are going to watch it in the future. ⛸️

In order to deliver as much of their super-long talk as possible, we have filled the magazine to the brim with their conversation. Please be sure to pick up a copy of this magazine before the #Hyoen 2024 finally opens this weekend!

Meanwhile, Daiichi Juken group launched a small giveaway for their very cute acrylic stand - not mentioned but I assume it's Japan-only:

They also say they will place the acrylic stand in all of their offices and shops Kazuki has been, so it will work as a footprint 👣

Here's the recording of Kazuki's radio corner yesterday, in case any one has access to Radiko

Fans commented it was again very fun, and especially touching when the chose 'Hanyu' for the letter H and spoke about Yuzu's kindness and how he always inspired his juniors. Kazuki said he wants to become the type of skater to inspire kids like Yuzu inspired him 🥹

The radio corner also has a sponsor now, yay! It's a posh beef restaurant in Nagano: https://www.sukitei.com/sp/

Apart from that, he chose a song by a band called Hump Back, and said it motivates him.
Here's the song and the machine translated lyrics below:

Don't you dream anymore?
Are you afraid of tomorrow?
Have you given up?
The sky is ridiculously beautiful.

You won't see him now.
He's changed, hasn't he?
I remember the days when we laughed.
I remember it like a fool.

Cracked youth, spoiled boy
Shallow wounds I've forgotten
There is no God.
I never believed in God.
We're just here. We're just here.

Oh, don't cry anymore.
I'm not as weak as you think.
Yeah, you still got to chase me
I can't let this end in defeat

Don't you dream anymore?
Are you afraid of tomorrow?
Have you given up?
The sky is ridiculously beautiful.

Oh, don't cry anymore.
I'm not as weak as you think.
Yeah, you still got to chase me
You can't end it all on a losing streak
It's better to go the long way

Daiichi Juken group revealed that their Kazuki acrylic stand fits in one's pocket 🥹 So cute!

Ahead of the start of Hyoen, non-no published part of the Kazuki x Dai-chan interview! 😍
Here's the DeepL translation:
The July/August issue, which is currently on sale, features a dream double story about figure skaters Daisuke Takahashi and Kazuki Tomono.
A special feature on the ice show "Hyoen 2024 - Kiseki of the Crossed Stars", in which they will perform together, will be held at Yokohama Arena from 8 June. Please read on before the show starts!
This feature is full of information about their encounters, turning points and the future they envisage. Check out the rest of the story in the magazine.

New attractions in Hyoen 2024 - The Kiss of the Crossed Stars.

Mr Tomono passionately plays the younger version of Mr Takahashi's character Kakeru.
Following on from the much-talked-about "Kassouya", the two will again co-star in the ice show "Hyoen 2024 - Kiseki of the Crossed Stars" starring Mr Takahashi, which will start on 8 June. The expression of the two after "Kassouya" is attracting a lot of attention.

Takahashi: "Kassouya" was a show specialising in skating, but this one has more acting while skating, so it's quite a challenge.

Tomono: I'm already scared out of my wits (laughs). I have no experience in creating a character from scratch, rather than playing an existing character. This show is the ultimate entertainment that combines various genres, so I thought that one day I would be able to do it, and when I heard that (Shimada) Koshiro was going to perform, I was really jealous.

Takahashi: I think Kazuki is better than me at performing on the ice. He has a theatrical mind.

Tomono: No, no. This time, I had a lot of trouble with my role. I had a kind of online interview with the producer and Miyamoto Amon. They told me to try a bit of acting, and I tried speaking and singing. Then he said, "Super nice!" I was told.

Takahashi: It sounds like he's going to like it a lot.

Tomono: I've always loved musicals, and I wanted to try acting one day. I guess I really like expression. I'm grateful to be able to have diverse experiences. I want to try everything in the hope that I can make something of it.

Takahashi: This is the third edition in the HYOEN series, but I want to go into it with a fresh mindset - it's been five years, and I have a lot more dialogue than before. There's a lot of pressure on me to improve on the quality of the previous work.

Tomono I was surprised at the amount of lines and went to voice training.

Takahashi: Singing scenes are also tough. I thought I was going to die the last time I experienced it (laughs).

Tomono A-ha!

Takahashi: We won't know until the rehearsal camp starts, but it's a chance for a lot of people to see the fusion of different kinds of entertainment. I will do my best to make use of what I have developed over the past five years and show you a new me here as well.
