Kazuki Tomono

I think it's amazing that Kazuki and Nobu went all the way to Fukuoka to see Ice Brave - it's not particularly close! Granted Japan has excellent transportation links, but I had a look and it's about the same distance as going from London to Edinburgh in the UK! I think it's really touching that, Kazuki, who is still competing and preparing for the Olympic season, literally went the extra mile to see his friend's show 🥹

They went to eat Motsunabe, which is a Fukuoka delicacy: A regional Japanese hot pot dish with plump beef offal, garlic chives, cabbage, and tofu simmered in a creamy miso broth

The other thing: Fans noticed that Kazuki was wearing a limited-edition DA PUMP t-shirt! Remember his collaboration with Issa from DA PUMP at FaOI 2023?

They were quite hysterical too at their seats based on fan reports 🤣 Nobu was super excited at everything. Kazuki started grooving on his seat when Legends started, he really like that program... they all yelled cheers whenever a skater came close to the point that Kazuki had to make Nobu stop because he was reaching out and making emotional faces to Rika who was skating Dancing on My Own 😁
Thanks for the information..Two happy boys!

^^^Still love that multicolored costume. I imagine there's no chance he would use it again this year!
Maybe not this year, but he has performed Tshegue in shows before, so I'm sure we'll see it again!

Meanwhile, following Kazuki and Nobu's visit to Fukuoka, Paoz drew this adorable illustration of Koza and Usopp having motsunabe together:

JSF announced their domestic competition schedule for next season, and Kinki Championships will take place on 2-5 Oct in Kyoto. That means that Kazuki *could* in theory do a challenger in September...
I hope he does! He deserves it. Where would you prefer for him to be sent to?
I hope that this season of all seasons, as many Japanese skaters as possible get chances to skate internationally. One never knows how the season might go, and who might get to skate in the Olympics and WC in the end, both in men and women. Preparation and exposure is everything.

Where would you prefer for him to be sent to?
It would be nice to see him at Nepela for once 😄

Thank you for sharing! I like what the photographer wrote: "Kazuki Tomono, who scratched his head after his performance, perhaps because of a fall in a jump. The new SP is a danceable program, which is typical of Tomono. He's so groovy that we got into the groove too, and it was hard for us to photograph..."

So yeah, he fell on his quads yesterday (surprise, surprise lol) but it seems he did better today! Everyone continues to say his new SP is amazing.

Here are some more pictures (he really likes the Underground costume, doesn't he ☺️)

Figure Skating DOI: Tomono Kazuki's new SP with deep bass steps gets the crowd excited

The figure skating ice show "Dream on Ice (DOI)" opened on the 27th at the Kose Shin-Yokohama Skate Center in Yokohama. Men's skater Kazuki Tomono (Daiichi Juken Group) skated to the new short program (SP) "That's It (I'm Crazy)."

The song features a deep bass and up-tempo rhythm. Although he was unable to land any of the quadruple jumps cleanly, he landed a triple axel (three and a half rotation jump) with ease, and thrilled the audience with his sharp movements in the end.

The performances will run until the 29th. In order to get closer to the atmosphere of the competition, each group will have a six-minute practice session before their performance, just like in a competition.

A more high-quality video, courtesy of @synesthesia - thank you so much! :thank:

So.... How are we feeling?

I'm obsessed with his programme, it showcases his personality and musicality so well. Of course, the proof is in the pudding, I mean the quads, but I don't even care at this point, I just want to see him skate 🥹 It's also a better contrast to Halston than Underground was.

Some details: the spins look really good, did you notice the arm variation that reminded me of his EX 'Don't fall in love'. Also, despite the obvious issues, both quads seem bigger than before!
