Kazuki Tomono

What is F-Sk?

"Fanicon" is a member-only fan community app that promotes the activities of talents, artists, and influencers (hereinafter referred to as icons) together with their core fans, and strongly supports the user's "oshikatsu" experience.

"F-Sk" features 10 skaters from different generations. You can enjoy posts and broadcasts that give a glimpse of the skaters' true faces, as well as their thoughts on skating, practice footage that can only be seen here, and more, including Shizuka Arakawa, Daisuke Takahashi, Kana Muramoto, Keiji Tanaka, Kazuki Tomono, Takahito Mura, Yuna Aoki, Rena Uezono, Yuto Kishina, and Kosho Oshima.

In addition, content from ice shows such as "Friends on Ice", "Hyoen", and "Skating House" will be posted in the app in due course. You can also see behind the scenes of the shows that you have never seen before and the production secrets of the management.

I'm not sure if it's geo-blocked, as sadly due to budget issues I can't afford the membership anyway 🫠 But I see several Japanese fans tweeting about it on a regular basis. Kazuki and others have done lives and shown practice videos etc

Sounds pretty cool!

It's not - I'm a member. :) (Several perks are not available for overseas fans though - the most annoying one for me being that they don't ship merchandise overseas, so in this regard the launch of F-Ske was a huge step backwards in terms of accessibility. :()

Anyhow, Kazuki posted a 40 second clip of his reworked "Halston" step sequence, which is beautiful. (Unfortunately, there is a strict policy that content from F-Ske may not be shared outside the platform under any circumstances.)

TY so much for the explanation!

Thank you for the confirmation! Out of curiosity, how easy it is for a foreigner to navigate the platform/content - is it easy to translate?

On a different note:

The registration process was very easy - if I remember correctly the instructions were in English and Japanese (it's been a while since I subscribed, so I'm not entirely sure, if I used the translation feature). You only need to choose a plan, enter your email address and set a password and then confirm via the link they are sending you. You can only enter your residential address, if you live in Japan - otherwise there is a checkbox that you have to mark, if you live abroad and they are telling you upfront that you won't be able to order anything from the fanshop, buy show tickets etc. You then need to pay by credit card.

I only use the browser version, which is very simple - it's comparable to twitter, where you have the menu on the left and a timeline to scroll through on the right. You can use the automatic translation feature of your browser of choice - it will translate the entire page for you, which then looks like this (I think I can share this screenshot where the actual content is blurred):

There is also an app version for mobile phones and tablets, which I haven't tried.

To be honest, the fees are imo too expensive, if you can't use the full range of functions as an overseas fan. That's why I think I'll be unsubscribing again soon. The content posted by the skaters and official show accounts (Hyoen, Kassouya, Friends on Ice) is nice, but not enough to make up for the limitations. The skaters don't post that much (on average, there is one contribution per day, distributed among all participating skaters). I will say though that Kazuki and Kana contribute the most, followed by Kosho - and there was a lot of nice Kassouya content posted by the show account. 😊

@synesthesia thank you so much for the info! Glad to know that it's not difficult to use for a non-Japanese speaker, but yes, the fees are expensive 😭 It's a shame that so much content is paywalled these days, it's hard to be able to afford all theses subscriptions 😓

Meanwhile, from non-no yesterday: 'Tomono Kazuki introduces his hometown, Sakai! "Sakai City Walking MAP" 🚶
https://nonno.hpplus.jp/series/tomono-monogatari/163239/
Thank you very much for the many people who participated, far more than we expected. There is only about one month left, but we have only a few bonus cards left, so we have increased the production! It is now the same season as when the map was photographed. You can enjoy the same scenery. We look forward to your continued participation.'

and Hiroshi Kurasawa-san just did an interview with Kazuki! It seems that Kazuki's section on Mainichi's website changed from 'Smiling, with honesty and happiness' to 'Culmination'

I saw four Kofuns on the South-Eastern part of the map, one big, one middle and two small, so I checked, and indeed the big one is even the biggest of all Kofuns! (And the two smaller ones are in fact big ones, and there are plenty others around.) I thought that they were mostly in the West of the Nara region. Visiting Sakai instead, may be a good way to see Kofuns in a not-too-crowded place?

Yesss Sakai is such a fascinating place! Once again, I'm jealous of the fans who can go there 😭

Saw some cute 4CC practice pics:

Mana Kawabe is one of us 🥹
Next was a long talk by Mana Kawabe. Many skaters have performed La La Land, but she said, "I love Tomono Kazuki's version."

Interesting that she is now being coached by Yuma's dad, and many people noticed that Yuma's new SP has strong Kazuki vibes. Coincidence, or perhaps Papa Kagiyama is a closeted Kazuki stan 😄

In other news, check out this cute Kazuki/Sota illustration: 'Memories of the training camp'

Another quote from Mana, as I said on Twitter it's amazing that he managed to take a tired warhorse like La La Land and make it so iconic that became a reference for other skaters... His impact is insane

Kazuki has been assigned to not one, but two autumn challenger competitions :dance2:

He'll be competing at Kinoshita Trophy (5-7 September) and Nebelhorn (25-27 Sep). Both competitions should feel very comfortable for him, as one is close to home, the other is the only challenger he's ever medalled at ☺️ So I'm happy for him.

Also, today, Fairy shop started selling TOMONO support banners again, this time there are two types!

Deep Edge Plus started a series about skaters and the people who support them behind the scenes, starting with Kazuki and Daiichi Juken Group:

Congrats to Kazuki on his two Challengers! 👏 He more than deserved it, after the unfathomable snub last season. Hopefully he adds another CS medal at one or both!
When is Kinki? I wasn't able to find it on GS. Could he be excused from it due to Nebelhorn?

Kinki is the weekend after Nebelhorn. I'm not sure if he could be excused, normally skaters can get a bye for Sectionals but not sure if it's the same with regionals

Meanwhile Paoz published these super cute illustrations, a mix between the TOMONO curry packaging and the pics on his Fairy website: https://www.fairynet.co.jp/TOMONO/
