Kazuki Tomono

I'm so proud of Kazuki for landing this big media gig - he hosted a TV/YouTube live discussion about the World Championships alongside his friends Sota, Wakaba and Yuna. It's a big responsibility and it makes me think perhaps there's a post-retirement future for him as a commentator, too.

It seems today there was another talk, this time with Sota about the Men free skate that will happen today

Message to fans via Quadruple Axel magazine - his talk with Yuna Aoki is being published today, I think:

Something really crazy happened...

Announcement regarding the acquisition of naming rights for the Osaka City Naniwa Sports Centre: ‘INOVE Daiichi Juken Naniwa Sports Centre’ – New name to be used from 1 April 2026

The Daiichi Juken Group (Daiichi Juken Holdings Co., Ltd., Head Office: Chuo-ku, Osaka; Representative Director: Takeshi Matsuo; https://www.d-group.co.jp/) is pleased to announce that it has applied for and secured the naming rights sponsorship offered by Osaka City.

The Daiichi Juken Group, known for its INOVE series, is a local company with deep roots in Osaka that has been operating in the property sector for over 50 years. Currently, as the sponsor of Kazuki Tomono—a top male singles figure skater who hails from Osaka and is based there—the company regards athlete support as a key pillar of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. As an Osaka-based company, we aim to support Osaka’s athletes and grow alongside the local community. With the aim of contributing to the creation of an environment where future Japanese national team members can be nurtured across various disciplines at the Naniwa Sports Centre, we applied for the naming rights to the Osaka Municipal Naniwa Sports Centre and, following a review, have been awarded the naming rights.
The centre will be known as the ‘INOVE Daiichi Juken Naniwa Sports Centre’. The name is scheduled to come into use on 1 April 2026, and the licence will remain in effect until 31 March 2028.

Comment from Takeshi Matsuo, Representative Director
I am truly delighted that we have secured the naming rights for the Osaka Municipal Naniwa Sports Centre.
I believe that sport has the power to bring people together and breathe new life into the local community.
We are committed to providing our full support to ensure that the ‘INOVE Daiichi Juken Naniwa Sports Centre’ remains a place cherished by people of all generations.
Together with the local community, we aim to create new value from Naniwa.

Ok, so basically... Daiichi Juken acquired the naming rights to the venue where Kazuki trains. They clarified that the new name does not apply to the Naniwa ice rink, which still belongs to Kazuki's previous sponsor, Central Sports. Still, it's fair to say this deal would not have happened if it wasn't for Kazuki, his impact is truly crazy 🤯
