Kazuki Tomono

Phew! I'm so proud of Kazuki today.
Yes, it wasn't the perfect skate that he needed, but he showed he can fight and jumped from 7th to 4th.
If he had skated his SP as well as he usually does, he could have totally podiumed.
So it's really not out of his reach. He just needs to trust himself a bit more.

Congratulations to Kazuki on pulling up from 7th to 4th. That is no small feat considering the huge pressure he must have felt. I would love to see him at 4CC.

Oh Kazuki... I think he tried his best did quite well today, too bad he couldn't make up enough points from the short to actually podium. Regardless, I'm still proud of him :)

Kazuki is so precious, I just LOVE HIM!! Although I am so sad since we won't see him at worlds which he really wanted (not sure if this might affect his assignment chances next season) but I am proud of him regardless :luv17: :sad46:

He did fight hard in the free and I actually loved his expressions so much in the SP

Not sure about the chances of seeing him in other international competitions this season but I hope we get to see him somehow, he deserves

Away from Kazuki, I really loved how juniors did impress in this competition. Future is looking brighter with them if they are given the chances they deserve. Felt bad for Koshiro to have to go last but that is a great experience for him regardless.

Congrats to medalists (sad for Shoma's injury). Shun, Yuma, Koshiro, and Tatsuya Well done

With all that said, now can I just have a word with the judges because, despite my lack of knowledge, I have so many questions for them :dev2:

I'm absolutely elated Kazuki is going to 4CC and Universiade! It's a shame he won't get to fill the spot he fought so hard to secure at last Worlds, but it happens...

He will still have a couple of chances to shine in the international arena!

Love how Misha is like a doting and proud dad in his posts about Kazuki. And those memes are so funny

BTW, after watching Kazuki's programs again without being nervous. I have some comments

- I like the small changes he added for the choreo in both programs.
- I think this was the first time I saw him not looking so tired during the FS. His energy was there till the end.
- If I am not wrong, I think this is actually his best TES for his FS this season.

I think it shows how much he prepared for this competition and I hope he can show those lovely programs in full glory in 4CC

Guys, Kazuki signed a sponsorship contract with Central Sports, a big Japanese company which operates several sports centres across the country, including Naniwa Sports Centre, where Kazuki trains.

Here's the official press release: https://company.central.co.jp/news/2018/2654/

Central Sports is a listed company worth millions and is listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange: https://www.reuters.com/finance/stocks/companyProfile/4801.T

They have affiliated athletes in different disciplines, including swimming and gymnastics: https://company.central.co.jp/athlete/player/ As you can see, Kazuki is the only figure skater in the list. He's still affiliated to his university but appears as a "supported athlete". I imagine once he graduates he will become affiliated with Central Sports directly.

I'm over the moon with this news. That a company like that is willing to attach their image to Kazuki, is a real recognition of his hard work and potential!

Great news indeed :hap10:

Actually I saw him mentioning about the company in his Twitter bio for sometime now (I think after RGP although not 100% sure) and you can also see him wearing their jacket in Japan's nationals. I guess they were just waiting for the nationals to be over so they can announce the news.

Hope this helps him developing his abilities and grow more

Also, seems we will be getting interview with both Kazuki and Misha in the next edition of Quadruple Axel. Will love to know more about their relationship :luv17:

Yes, I think they have a deal for some time, but today the company announced it officially! Which is a massive recognition!

AAAAAHHHH Can't wait for the interview!
