Kazuki Tomono

In case you missed the "hot noodle punishment" from the jump challenge -- of course, Kazuki is so helpful to Shoma and eats a few noodles himself. I wonder how hot this stuff really is? (it has Closed Captions in English)

This spicy noodles challenge video is absolutely hilarious, I really recommend it for those who need a good laugh!
I'm grateful to Shoma for posting it, and so happy that Kazuki took part in it - the contrast between chilled Shoma and dramatic Kazuki is just too funny 🤣🤣🤣

Couple of fan arts inspired by it:

Kazuki tried to justify himself on Twitter saying that he loves spicy food, but those noodles were too much 😅
He said he thinks Shoma is stronger against pain, and both of them had swollen lips after eating it

Is there a version of the noodle video with subtitles? I couldn't understand anything.
But the boys were having fun! Do we know who was filming them? It sounded like Keiji to me.

Today is Kazuki's birthday! 🥳🎂

He's already changed his twitter to Kazuki Tomono (23) and has been busy reposting happy birthday stories on Instagram 😄

There have been SO MANY great happy birthday posts and fan art on social media already, here are some that appeared on my TL:

So Kazuki has been pretty MIA recently but today he broke his silence on social media to post a picture of a magazine called 'Sauna Bros' 😂

Good news! Kazuki is scheduled to appear on Dreams on Ice, 9-11 July. More info about the event here: https://onice.jp

He's also doing an online talk with Yuhana Yokoi on 13 June: https://twitter.com/fskating_Life/status/1397750652906795008
Should be super fun!

Finally, yesterday was World Otter Day, here are some otter-inspired Kazuki fan arts:

Yay, I am happy to hear that :giggle: I was getting really worried that the pandemic would affect skating shows and skaters' incomes, so I am happy to hear these continue. I wish I could hear Yuhana's and Kazuki's talkshow as they're both fun-loving :]

There was another SOI broadcast today, and one backstage scene in particular, involving both Yuzuru and Kazuki, grabbed people's attention!
yuzu: ok, kazuki, go ahead & say something suitable for our last day
kazuki: really?
Y: yes.
K: ok well everyone...this is the last, the final performance...we've prepared well--
Y: LET'S GOO!! (lmao)
Y: damn, they're gonna write on twitter 'tomono was dilly-dallying around lmao' (I've seen another translation saying 'That didn't go well for Tomono')

Of course, 'tomono was dilly-dallying around' immediately started trending on Twitter 😂
Kazuki reacted by tweeting: 'LOL @ this inexplicable trend' and 'Please leave it to me next time'

Not gonna lie, at first I felt sorry for Kazuki, but then I read Japanese fans saying that the fact he was chosen for this prank was good for Kazuki, because it shows he and Yuzuru have a good relationship.
Also, I remember an interview with Nobu in which he said Yuzuru likes to tease his friends... 😅

Cute fan art with mischievous Yuzu and surprised Kazuki: https://twitter.com/hidetanmama/status/1398905768095539200

Some other bits from SOI:
Kazuki's 3A from the jump contest: https://twitter.com/KazukiGIFs/status/1398860155526152200
Kazuki's interview (in Japanese with no translation, sorry!): https://twitter.com/KazukiGIFs/status/1398848160915550214
Kazuki's newspaper he used for 'Bills', signed by Kao Miura, Shoma, Keiji and Yuma: https://twitter.com/takeyo55098794/status/1398949570151809028

That's one solid 3A!
lol, any idea which autograph on the newspaper is which? I can only see the 'Yuma' there, not the others.
Bills is quickly becoming one of my favorite galas. But then, which Kazuki gala isn't my favorite? :drama:
Don't worry about the prank, Kirara, I'm sure Kazuki is actually loving the teasing! ^ ^

Seems that Kao is in the top right, Keiji is the one on the bottom right, Shoma is in the top left, and Yuma in the bottom left!

BTW, apparently in his SOI interview he said he choreographed 'Bills' himself! 🙀 He is just so talented.

Over the weekend, there was also a broadcast from PIW, available here but requires VNP: https://video.tv-tokyo.co.jp/princeiceworld/episode/00079868.html
Little snippet of Kazuki landing a 3A and doing some choreo while wearing shorts: https://twitter.com/KazukiGIFs/status/1398973985837096961

I read on Twitter some interesting comments from Tatsuki Machida, he said at this point 'Kazuki Tomono is a brand', and that his challenge is to keep and expand this brand in shows and competitions, and not let the brand's value lower. I thought this was a really insightful observation from Machida.

Thanks, I'd never have guessed!

I agree with Machida - if he means that Kazuki is so distinctive that his name alone attracts people (in galas especially), then I'd say he's right.
The boy has amazing gala ideas. ❤️

Yes, I think that's exactly what he means! His brand as 'entertainer' is already established, so the challenge now is to cultivate this brand and not let the fans down. He's been doing amazing so far!

I forgot to say before, but Sion Kamada and Shu Nakamura made a video in which they try to copy jumps with difficult entries by other Japanese men: https://youtu.be/PvDtToKqqAQ (They do Hiroaki Sato, Yuzuru twice, Tatsuki Machida, Kento Nakamura and Kazuki)
I was pleasantly surprised to see Kazuki's lutz from Riverdance in this list (at 8:37). Well worth a watch event for those who don't understand Japanese, and it really shows how much an underrated jumper Kazuki is. I even remember once Kazuki slipped during this entry and still managed to land the jump 😅

In the same vein, my brain literally couldn't believe when I saw this flip from PIW: https://twitter.com/KazukiGIFs/status/1399652426605420546
The quick entry and the ease of the jump got me thinking it was a triple toe at first, I actually had to check with a friend!
Pretty amazing when you think his flip/lutz used to be to be very muscled and the axis was super tilted. Even the leg wrap got better!

PS- Kazuki said on IG he's be willing to participate in Sion and Shu's YouTube 'Skate Lab' project, I hope he does!
