Kazuki Tomono

Yes, Kazuki confirmed in his NowVoice he is currently in LA! It seems he also continues his Sota hype campaign 😄
I hope his practice with Misha goes well  Apparently he will go back to Japan before travelling to Nebelhorn.

Meanwhile, here's a short thread with some nice words about Sota, Yuma and Shoma:

Kazuki is scheduled to compete in the Kinki championships, to be held in the Hyogo prefecture on 8-10 Oct. This regional competition is a requirement for him to qualify for Nationals. Good luck, Kazuki! #KazukiTomono #友野一希

Yup, Kazuki will be competing at Kinki which is good because it'll give him another chance to get into competition shape before his GP assignments. I know some of you are recent Kazuki fans so I just wanted to give a heads up: Kazuki often has rough skates at Kinki 😅
Partly because it's still early in the season for him (he tends to peak later), but also because he's the heavy favourite and that freaks him out a little 😌 So if he has rough skates, please don't worry, that's normal!

Meanwhile, a fan posted this picture of Kazuki with Misha at the rink in LA:

Here it is! This angle really makes you appreciate how his air position is a lot tighter on the 4T compared to the 4S, although the 4S was a better jump than the 4T. I hope this doesn't mean he's still having boot troubles with the 4T  😥

Guys, Kazuki has new new column, this time on Mainichi Shinbum, according to Google 'is one of the major newspapers in Japan'
Kazuki Tomono (24), who is active in figure skating boys (Ueno Shiba Skating Club)'s column "Honestly smile and be happy" will start serialization.

Taking advantage of his rich expressiveness, Tomono has accumulated achievements on the international stage, placing 2nd at the Four Continents Championships and 6th at the World Championships last season. He talks about his own "past" and "future", as well as his thoughts on skating.
The first issue will be released at 4:00 pm on the 13th. About once a month, we will deliver Tomono's heartfelt voice through the special figure skating site " Fun! Figure " and the paper.

Kazuki's first article on Mainichi Shinbum has been published! Unfortunately, it's behind a paywall: https://mainichi.jp/articles/20220912/k00/00m/050/076000c
This is the part shared for free. The rest is behind a paywall:

My name is Kazuki Tomono, a figure skater. I hope to share my life and my view on skating through my series of articles. This time, I would like to talk about my thoughts behind the title of my column, "Honest, Smiling, Happy," and my early days of skating.

The three words in the title have always been important to me. I express myself "honestly" in skating, and try to make people who watch me "smile" and "be happy."

My goal is to skate in a way that makes those around me happy.

Athletes are the ones who inspire people through sports. I think figure skating is especially powerful in this regard. My ultimate goal is to show skating that makes people happy, no matter what kind of performance I do.

I was always so curious from a young age that people used to say I was a "handful child." On the other hand, I had the ability to make people smile and give them a happy feeling from that time.

My mother told me that when I was in a baby stroller, for example, I would smile and say "ahaha" when my eyes met people on the street. Then, young girls and women would come up to me and happily exclaim, "Oooooh!" and I heard that I was a popular baby. Those days were definitely the period of my life when I was the most "popular with girls." (laughs)

The name Kazuki is based on my parents' wish for me to be a boy who is able to move toward a single destination of hope.
