Kazuki Tomono

Agreed, what an amazing article! Some highlights from me:

- Super cool that Colantotte invited non-no to cover the Resno shooting, and non-no said they are going to release a video, I'm looking forward to it! Seeing Kazuki so relaxed made me smile, no wonder he has heaps of energy, he seems to sleep really well!
- Awww Tsumugi is a FaOI-only project, understandable but what a shame. I really wanted to see it again.
- I'm sooooo happy that he seems to be having no issues with jumping this off-season, I remember about this time last season he was having problems with the 4T and I think this had a negative effect to the start of the season. Seems that he's doing OK this time
- He made me laugh when he said during Halston it was the first time he got applause for his spins 😂
- Wow, the Underground costume is by Mathieu Caron! So cool!
- He said some very interesting things about playing Koza, and how he felt overwhelmed by his emotions while playing him. Also, his words about Shoma were so touching, he is really proud of his friend 🥹
- Finally, the bit about bullying in the end is so bittersweet. I felt sad to read that Kazuki has been bullied as a child, and I could feel this experience shaped his advice a lot. It's a bit surprising to see him being so 'ruthless' but as usual, his advice is very sensible. There's no dialogue with bullies. I hope Namios-san take his advice and gets away from that circle of friends.

Do you have a link to Tsumugi? I never saw it, ty..

I believe I sent you a PM about it, but that's quite a while ago. You didn't see it?

Seems that there's been a 'Tomono training camp' earlier this week - with Satoko Miyahara as a guest!
I went through all of my messages..I don't see any link..The last message was April 14, about WTT

Reminder that Kazuki starts his competitive season today at the All Osaka II Figure Skating Championships! Seems there will be an audience so hopefully we'll have some reports. I'm not expecting a clean skate this early in the season (it's a free-only event), but hopefully he'll have fun! Good luck, Kazuki!

Sorry it took me so long! But Kazuki won the All Osaka II Championships yesterday 🏆 Congrats!
Here's his protocol:

As Kwanette pointed out, the quads are not there yet, but he landed all the other jumps, including 2 3As in the second half! That's impressive. He also left some points on the table by doubling the salchow in the 3-jump combo and losing some levels. However, look at those PCS! :love2: Not bad at all for a less than perfect skate at a small domestic comp so early in the season.

I'm personally really pleased. I was expecting a rough skate because:
1) It's normal for him early in the season
2) he's had barely any time to train
3) 'Halston' is a really difficult programme.

So he exceeded my expectations; I'm particularly pleased about the axels because usually when he's struggling mentally, the axels are the first to suffer. So the fact that he nailed the axels is a really good sign that mentally he is in a good place, he just needs to adjust to doing the quads again

More importantly, all the reports I saw from people who saw his programme there at the venue said it was really beautiful 🥹 This is makes me so happy, as jumps can be sorted out later, but it's great that Halston seems to be working as intended and leaving such an impression on the audience.

Also, we got to see his new costume! https://mainichi.jp/graphs/20230826/mpj/00m/050/194000f/AD
The design looks a bit 'too busy' for me in the pictures, but I bet it looks great in motion and in the context of the programme. Ahhh I'm really looking forward to seeing his programmes with the proper costumes!

Finally, a picture of the podium! So cute!

Paid Mainichi article about Kazuki's victory at the All-Osaka competition, in which he confirms (in the first paragraph) he's feeling positive about his jumps :dance3:

I had a little bit of my previous feeling in quad (jumps) this week. I think it was not yet sweet enough (to jump) in the competition (after falling on the quad toeloop at the beginning). I've been working on triple jumps, so I'm going to add quadruple jumps. I think my pace of quadruple (finishing) is better than last year, so I hope I can do it with positive mindset.

The main difference is that he's listing Izumisano as one of his practice locations, which means he's been using the Kanku Ice Arena quite a bit. I think think Naniwa Sports Centre is his main rink, though.

Apart from that, 'Tomono's Monogatari' was once again the most popular article of the week on non-no's website: https://nonno.hpplus.jp/article/112754

Also, it seems that Kazuki appeared as a special guest on Shoma Uno's Mizuno talk show today!

I am fixated on "shoe care"..I love him..

Lots of updates from yesterday! First of all, some pics from the Shoma talkshow:

I'm really grateful to Shoma for inviting him for this event, and I'm also very grateful to Shoma fans, who seem to be really welcoming 🥹
I've seen many comments saying the event was great, and that the atmosphere between the three skaters was very relaxed and they told many interesting stories. It seems there was a touching moment in which Shoma said he would like to produce his own ice show in the future, and Kazuki said something along the lines of 'when the time comes, leave it with me!'. I really love their friendship 🥰

Apart from that, non-no released the IG reel from Kazuki's Colantotte Resno shooting!

Very cute!

There's also a new pic from the All Osaka II podium:

Finally, Nebelhorn entries are out!
It's a really tough field! I'd say his main competitors for the podium are Adam Siao Him Fa, Daniel Grassl and Koshiro, but Lucas Broussard could be a dark horse (Deniss is on the entry list but I read he is actually planning to compete at Nepela instead)

I have yet to figure out why JSF keep assigning Kazuki to the early Challengers when he tends to peak later in the season. True, they could have picked Lombardia or Autumn Classic, but still, wouldn't Finlandia work better for him, considering it would be a while after his show commitments (at least I think so, someone please correct me if not), and his first GP is more than two weeks after Finlandia. I guess they have their reasonoing, but I don't get it.
I think he's still got a fairly good chance to win, depending on Adam's condition of course. Neither Grassl nor Koshiro are consistent so on par with 'early season Kazuki' in that department. ^ ^

Yesss he should have gotten Finlandia Trophy! He keeps saying he'd like to go to Finland for the sauna ♨️

I wonder if they are sending him and Koshiro to Nebelhorn because Finlandia overlaps with Japan Open.

Another One Piece on Ice clip with some Koza footage :love2:

Kazuki was once again at the open rehearsals today, a little report from his jumping practice:
Tomono-kun: Snaking both feet, rocker CE, cross, etc. as usual.
3F2A, 3A1Eu3S, Rocker CE 3A, 4S, etc.

One Piece on Ice Nagoya started today, and Kazuki landed a gorgeous 3A in this morning's finale :love2:
We can see he's getting competition-ready...But I'm still amazed he can do such a difficult jump whilst wearing sunglasses 🕶️
