Laurin will be looking for a new partner. Not sure of Ethier's goals?

I had heard about their split earlier, and was saddened. Now, it's official and I'm even more saddened. As I posted elsewhere: their Free Programme at Canada's Nationals was so good.

It looks as if Loucas is done (with skating), but Kelly Ann is not. I hope she finds a new partner!

Kelly Ann is only 20. It's clear in her post that she wants to continue.
Loucas's post is a bit less clear to me. It can be read as he is continuing with another partner... but why the split then ?
It could also be because he has done his firefighter training and was aiming to go on with that career full-time. So perhaps that's what he is referring to but again, unclear.

What is clear from the Patinage Québec funding list is that neither they were on it, nor Deanna and Max, nor Bombardier Mimar...

I always had a soft spot for this team and I'm sad to see them part ways because I feel like they were never able to fulfill the potential they had. I wish them both all the best and hope that Kelly Ann is able to find a worthy partner and Loucas excels in his next chapter of life whether it's in skating or other endeavours.

It's not completely clear that Loucas "is done with skating." He said, "I'm really looking forward to this next chapter of my career. Stay tuned."

That doesn't sound to me like Loucas is retiring from skating... His words could mean anything.

He didn't say he's retiring. She didn't thank him in her statement. That makes you think he wanted a partner change - a better fit.

This break-up is really disappointing. They had a great season this year, and I really thought that they would have a big breakthrough next year. Hopefully they will be able to find suitable partners, if they both continue. In particular, I hope that Kelly Ann will find someone to match her wonderful energy.

I like both of these skaters and wish the best for them both. I had really warmed up to their skating this season, but I guess they felt they had reached their potential ceiling together. I hope they can both improve with new partnerships and coaching and achieve their goals for the future.
