Kevin Reynolds | Page 23 | Golden Skate

Kevin Reynolds

I loved that little fist pump after the Axel  I so really want him to medal, and I know he is well capable. It is not the first time he betters Hanyu, he did that when he won the gold at 4CC in 2013. Although probably Hanyu will come back in the free to get into the second position, the bronze can well be his, or maybe, maybe even a silver! :agree:

I mean I love both Kevin and Yuzuru, but I have a soft spot for Kevin.

It was so nice to see Kevin have a strong skate here. Welcome back to the big leagues! His jumps looked very good overall, and I quite like this program for him. Shae-Lynn does good work! I would like to see him now focus more on his spins and power, and he could really be a threat.

I just loved Kevin's program...the music is so unusual but it suits him to a t! I felt like I was transported to some kind of elfin kingdom watching him

Regardless of whether he can medal here, he should feel good about his performance. It was the highlight of the men's SP for me.

Kevin is known not just for his quads, but also for his innovative choice of music, and for his hair of course!

YAS! Which is another reason why I love him. He's very creative! Like who would have thought to do AC/DC, the Legend of Zelda music, or Chrono Trigger music? Or Cowboy Bebop? He did.

Which has inspired me to look for "different" music for skating though I myself don't skate.

He did it!!! Bronze!!! Squeee!!! I am sooooooooooo happy :hap93::hap93::hap93::love::luv17::party2:

I loved his FS and I don't find it empty like some other people. 4 quad attempts for a guy his age, who has had his injuries is just :jaw: Congratulations Kevin!

Hope he can get another GP assignment, maybe Japan?

Filling in Yamamoto's spot at NHK would be ideal but probably they are obligated to pick another Japanese... where else was Sota allocaded to?

I loved his long program. I admit I was never a big fan of his, but this program kept me interested from start to finish and it was fantastic to see him do so well. Welcome back, Kevin. With so many issues over the years, what a victory for him. I was proud of him tonight.

France, China and Japan all have a spot... but I am sure Japan will invite a Japanese to replace Sota. China, apart Boyang and Han already going there, they probably have other skaters ready??? the replacement would be for a chinese skater... in France, which is just in two weeks, is more likely... They have two spots if I recall correctly... one for a French man, if they do have another, and one for a Japanese man.... but will they do Kevin a favour?? I doubt it.

Let's hope though..

Japan Loves Kevin Reynolds. They would be doing skating fans in Japan a big favor if they can invite him. Not kidding, he's really, really popular to Japan fans.

LOL>.. i saw you had just posted on the fan fest after I had done, and I thought, specs will tell me Japan loves Kevin :) well it's true... and I am sure that if any other skater withdrew, Japan would invite Kevin ... but it's a japanese skater's spot to fill and they have so much local talent. I remain hopeful that Kevin will find a spot, but will not count on it ;)

Congratulations Kevin! Just bask a while. So deserving after all the unfortunate troubles and injuries that some would have given up. No doubt some fans have given up on you. You just proved once a Quad King, still a Quad King amidst all the youngsters. Bravo!

YASSSS! I'm so thrilled for Kevin!:yahoo::clap::dance:

I hope he improves from here and stays healthy this season. I think he and Patrick are probably Canada's best chance to get a third spot for the men for 2018.

Oh my, my!!!

His exhibition program has just become an instant favourite. I'll be watching this one again and again!

I had felt so badly for him when Back in Black kept being a struggle for him as a SP in 2013-14. But he is back, and it works and the additional music cuts work so well.

And he shows his hard rocking Lower Mainland of BC roots. So cool...
