Kevin Reynolds

He went for a 4-3-3! That is truly impressive indeed! Well done Kevin!

yes, the issue seems that he didn't go for his 3 first passes and tturn one revolution less on each of them... that's too bad....

the combo is EXCITING!!! it's back on Mango!!! (still needs work but it's in the making)

yeah.... with the lz, it seems to be problematic... I was wondering why he inserted the 3F in his SP, that may explain it.... if you look at this program skated clean, its content is very competitive....
I m the planned content was

4S
4T
3A
4T-3T-3L
2A-2T (I guess that this could have been either 3A-2t or 2A-3T... probably the latter but in this event he did a double-double to avoid the zayak of the Toe jump)
3Lz
3F
3S

there's room for another 2T or 2L ?

Yes there is. I actually did some calculations on seeing if the SP and FP was clean and the negative GOE went to at least zero (that is -1.40 GOE and adding in 1.40 to make it zero to be fair), nor UR, downgrades, or edge calls, and no pops, it would have gotten 242.75. And that's also me adding a jump into the calculations.

So I figured it out:

4S
4T
3A
4T-3T-3Lo x
2A-2T x
3Lz x
3F x
3S-2T x

Triple/quad count: 4S: 1. 4T: 2. 3A: 1. 3Lz: 1. 3F: 1. 3Lo: 1. 3S: 1. 3T: 1. 2A: 1. 2T: 2. Yeah. The content would work. In fact, enough that he could have used a 3T in one of the other combinations. But he was smart so he wouldn't Zayak. Like He could have added another 3T or 3Lo. Like he could have done a 2A-3T. Wow.....he's definitely thinking big again.

he did 2A-3T at sportland... so I am guessing he would do that.... he was indeed thinking hard here as at Sportland, he did the first quads, so his 3 jump combo was 3F-3T-3L which is also very impressive ... i think Kevin is becoming the king of improvising new jump layouts on the spot when things don't go as planned...and that comes from confidence too... which i think he is gaining now. i cannot wait to see what he does when he is back to 100%

I think he also did that at the team event at the Olympics. I mean improvising jump layouts.

I'm feeling for Kevin today, but he's on the road to recovery so he'll continue to make progress. Last competition that FS wasn't bad, this competition the SP wasn't bad. Hopefully all the Canadian men get their programs sorted out next year.

And the 4-3-3!!

Megan Yim posted a photo of herself with Kevin and Sarah Tamura yesterday. Looks like they were recognized for something.

Kevin looks like an overgrown 12 year old here. :)

Heck I remember when I first saw him on the Livestream at the Olympics for the team event, I though he was 16-17....hehehehehehe. He's so baby-faced that it's kinda scary to know that he's turning 26 in July.
