I thought Sophia's, Mike's (?? the kid who got them all to listen and let the council try to organize them), the town council's parents should all be proud of their kids. The 6 of them really stepped up.
The only parents who should be ashamed are the one's of the 2 older boys were bullying and graffitting. I might be more forgiving if one of them was the one who lifted the kid onto the wagon when he had the muscle spasm.
I think this show will show that kids should not be underestimated. The kids will also learn that life is difficult, experience the differences between the have and have-nots (since there are 4 different pay scales), teamwork, etc - a lot of stuff they'll need to get through life.
The kids appeared to be so supportive of each other in general. They really tried to help the 8 yr old get over his homesickness and stay, but they didn't taunt him as a baby (well, at least, not based on the clips.)
I wonder how separating the group into 4 districts will play out. Red are the wealthy and earn $1 for doing whatever they want. Blue are the merchants and get 50 cents for running the stores. Yellow are the workers and get 25 cents and are responsible for preparing all meals (btw, the team consists of mostly the younger kids.). Green are the laborers and earn 5 cents for cleaning the latrines, etc. The teams were divided up by the town council of 4. The jobs were assigned based upon a competition.
I was so happy that the blue team (the one with the 2 obnoxious older boys) did not get 1st place.
Just want to mention to those who have not watched that the gold star is worth $20,000 and one is to be given by the town council to the person they feel deserves it the most. Sophia won because she took charge of the cooking for the 1st couple of days and taught herself to cook by reading the cookbook. In addition to the star, she got to make a phone call home. When she saw the bicycle in the shop, she decided she had to have it and danced in the street for anyone who would contribute towards the $3 for the purchase (She's on the green team and only had a nickel to her name.)
