He sounds like a better announcer this event too. Yet his fun personality is still in tact. Loved the bribe gig during push Dick's Button. and the comments during the skates were good too.

Dick Button and Peggy Flemming could retire from ESPN and Kurt and Paul could come in and take over and I wouldn't complain at all...

I'll agree with that fine comment. I do think my expectations were a little high at first, you convinced me to give Kurt a chance, I am not disappointed, but I most definitely think he has improved.


Also Dick and Peggy? I would rather have Kurt than Paul. And who does Peggy's gig? Suzy is a MUST IMO. Terry a MUST. And I would want to keep at the very least Peggy. Peter has gotten better just in this season alone I think. I like Dick but it is a new time and a need of change is evident - EVEN if that is just an ability to have younger association, plus Dick has had a great run and would like to and believe we would see him time and time again stopping by. I am sure he will still want to go to these events. Just have him do the Button push thing with him in the stands.

But mainly for that "generation association" thing that I see it as a productive move. It just seems like reality.

But who for Peggy?

Get in Chris Dean for dance, anyone but Peter for pairs, Paul and Kurt could do it all for all I care lol... Paul has a background in pairs skating... Kristi Yamaguchi would make a great commentator and also has a background in pairs..

I'm not too sure about that. I remember Kristi was a pairs commentator for ESPN at 1994 Worlds and I wasn't very impressed. She seemed kind of unsure of herself and I thought her voice sounded really squeaky.

But to be fair, that was 13 years ago and Kristi just might be able to do a better job if she wanted to try commentary again. One positive thing I can say about her commentary back in 1994 was she didn't talk too much...always a good thing, IMO! :agree:

Back to the original topic of this thread, congratulations to Kurt and Sonia! Boy or girl, I hope their next baby will be as happy, healthy and adorable as their first. Thanks for sharing the article with us, Antilles!

Actually, I can stand Dick a whole, whole, whole, whole lot better than Kurt!!! He irritates me with all the jokes, quips and sarcasm directed at the skaters and all the attention he tries to direct toward himself.

Now Paul is a whole different story............I think it's called professionalism.
