Kwan promotes 04 Marshall's in Detroit. :)

I like the look on the little boy's face on the right in the thrd picture down, LOL.

I am hoping for a good turnout for Marshalls. The highest-priced seats are sold out, but there are still plenty of $55 seats left in the higher rows of the lower bowl (I'm in row R), as well as less expensive seats in the upper bowl.

Great pictures! The one with Michelle skating backwards with kids in the background was in my local paper (The Oakland Press) on Saturday. It was a large picture in color; the only color picture on the page.

Mathman - I am so surprised the $75 seats are sold out - they are so expensive! I got mine a while ago. I'm in Row A, but I think I am in the sixth row, behind AA -EE. I am looking forward to this event so much!

Last year they were giving away upper level seats at area super markets the day of the event. I think they like to see a full arena on camera.

Great photos, great story. Michelle is always a class act. You'll NEVER see HER arrested on a DUI, that's for sure!

I didn't know MK was promoting events as well (does she usually do so?). So much for all this talk of "injury"...

Looks like she's having fun with the kids.

Yes, I think she does do a lot of promotional work for United Skates Figure Skating.

About having a tricky situation with her back, I don't think that would interfer with skating around with some children and signing autographs. Michelle herself did not say that she was injured, only that she wanted to take some time off to prepare for events in the latter part of the season.

I think she will approach the Marshalls competition the same way that she did Campbell's -- give an all-out preformance, but not take a chance on aggravating her back by overdoing it on complex spin positions.

geez Red Dog--she was there mainly for a clinic with beginning/novice, etc children, some physically challenged. It looks to me like she's having a lot of fun with those kids (and they were happy being on the ice, too)--not doing a look at me, see what I can do to impress them. Yes, she also was doing some promoting--she never said her back pain is keeping her off the ice--just some of the spins aggravated the pain more.

That's because I volunteered to be her designated driver. ;)

Sorry, hon, but I believe Mathman is already signed up for that position! It was a sacrifice, but SOMEBODY had to volunteer!

Michelle just looks great in these pictures. she looks well rested, mature, confident, and she's going to place well in the coming competitions.

0h No

The color conscious among us noted that she wore maroon sweat pants with a red-white-blue warm-up jacket. Call the fashion police!

Gosh, I didn't notice that at first. I thought her pants were black. Michelle, Michelle, Michelle.

I'm in row E, and they told me on the phone that was 11 (or maybe 10 - my memory is going) rows up from the ice. On the red line - yeah!

What's the conflict? IIRC, there were quotes from Michelle about back pain, but she did not cite the pain as a reason for declining the invitations to skate in the GP series. Instead, she referred only to the reduced workload as helping her skating over the past two years.

Thanks for writing this because I wasn't sure that they still did the five rows of double letters. Now I know for sure!

Gee, Sasha has a note from a doctor, but she is still doing her Skate with Sasha events. I wouldn't compare stroking around with little kids with competing.

So are you going Math???

I had noticed that Michelle's pants' and jacket's colors not matching. Maybe she only brought one pair of black or blue pants and accidentally spilled coffee on it... But her overall appearance was not much affected by the wrong color matching. Michelle does not have to be perfect all the time...

I'll be there with bells on, Dee. :agree:

Mix or match, Michelle is perfect all the time.

I noticed another thing: her hair is JET black. I really like it like that. Maybe she's sick of the phenomenon around Asian girls dying their hair brown and decided to go black? ;) I like it that way.
