Quite a lot of contestants... I thought last year was less than 20? Well, there might still be some withdrawals...

my top 2 would go to the Olympics, if Sasha noshows then move everyone up a position.

In reality though, I think the 2 spots for the Olympics will go to Ashley & Rachel. My question is though: Will Rachel be a bride's maid for a 3rd time? Or will she win this year?

At any rate Nationals will be exciting :yes::rock:

:laugh: that's the easy part.

The hard part is basically everything else. The winner could be any of the Big Five, although I'd say Flatt has the edge based on her GP performances. I hope this is not a competition decided in the SP (or by a controversial result in the FS like 2009).

Hmm, don't see this Christina Gao breaking top 4 in her first Nats!! I don't think her scores on the JPG were that impressive anyway. Probably would have her in the lower half of the top 10. I also think it would take a repeat of SC for Zhang to sink that far down in the standings. Czisny OTP = entirely possible, maybe probable, if she has another one of her (in)famous meltdowns.

The Oly pair of Flatt/Nagasu (or Flatt/anyone :laugh: ) is the most likely outcome.

I don't dare predict the outcome! Though based on the GP the 'likely' top 2 would be Rachael and Ashley; but that was the case last year as well, and it turned out differently. If Rachael skates remotely clean, she'll be on the Oly team. She's favorite to win this thing anyway. Is Ashley nails her triple-triple in the LP and doesn't two-foot anything, she'll be on the team as well. From the moment these two make mistakes; the field is open for Alissa, Mirai and Caroline to take it.
I'm also making my 'predictions' based on the assumption that Sasha withdraws; if she doesn't withdraw my 'dream podium' would be:
1. Ashley
2. Sasha
3. Alissa
4. Emily
Which is basically Ashley and the 'oldies'.

If Sasha withdraws it's
1. Ashley
2. Alissa
3. Emily
4. Rachael
I think Ashley and Alissa would be a great Olympic team :). However it would take a bombing Flatt to make that happen, I think.

It's going to be a thriller, I think.. I also hope it won't be decided after the SP.
 
Hmm my predictions are normally terrible but anyway:

1) Flatt
2) Wagner
3) Czisny
4) Nagasu
5) Zhang

Seriously, I think it's a toss-up. I will predict that Sasha withdraws (I hope she shows; I like her skating).
 
Prediction:

1) Rachael
2-4) Alissa/Mirai/Ashley (tossup)

Dream podium:

1) Caroline or Alissa-with-a-Sabrina-like-performance (most likely her last chance to go to the Olympics)
2) Christina
3) Mirai
 
This is one of the toughest Nats to predict (last year was a trip as well)

I think Flatt will be on the team (i.e. she will win or place 2nd)

I think Nagasu will be in the top 3.

I think Wagner will be in the top 4.

I think Czisny will be in the top 8. Zhang too.

I think we'll have a Surprise Skater sneak into the top 6.

That's about the extent I'm going to be "predicting" this one...

Offering the benefit of the doubt as I think is only fair, I am making my top ten predictions based on a full field of 24 skaters:

1. Sasha Cohen
2. Rachael Flatt
3. Alissa Czisny
4. Ashley Wagner
5. Mirai Nagasu
6. Beatrisa Liang
7. Christina Gao
8. Caroline Zhang
9. Emily Hughes
10. Melissa Bulanhagui
 
This is a toughie but I'll play along. My prediction for the Top Ten is they'll end up as follows, but in each group, the positions could switch around.

#1-3: Flatt, Wagner, Czisny
#4-6: Nagasu, Zhang, Gilles
#7-10: Gao, Maxwell, Hughes, Diggs

I don't think Cohen will show up, but if she does, I'd stick her somewhere in the #4-6 group, with Gilles likely moving down a notch, and Hughes or Diggs dropping out of the top 10.
