Ladies Free Skate

I think his/her logic is reasonable. If you do more difficult elements, of course the pressure is higher.

True.. But the point is that's something to consider when you put your jump content together... And Mao did better in the long, then she did in the short all season... Even when she was only attempting 5 triples in the long Lol!

She two footed the 3a and 3toe.

I also thought that she might have slightly two-footed these two jumps although I wasn't very sure. Esp, 3F-3T was at the end of the rink and it was difficult to tell. Four Judges gave her -1; 4 judges gave her 0; and 2 judges gave her +1 on that jump.

I also felt that her 2a-2l-2l might have been slightly underrorated, but she got a modest + GOEs for that this time.

Thanks, ks777 and Bennett.
I really love this rivalry between Yu-Na and Mao.
A point to note is that Mao upgraded her 3F+2Lo to 3F+3Lo to basket whopping 12.75 points with one move.
I wonder if Yu-Na will make any adjustments in her program to increase her base value for the Worlds.

I have no idea how they can come up with all the jump layout. The rules look very complicated to me. But I feel that she might be able to do 3Lz-3T instead of 2A-3T because she seems to be very good at both 3Lz and 3T.

BTW, I don't know if we can compare across men and ladies, but I just noticed that Mao's base value was higher than those of Weir or Daisuke at this competition.

I think Mao could add another 2axel. Yuna could do another triple flip instead of doing 2axel/3toe loop and add 2axel/2toe. Are they allowed to do that? I am too lazy to looking into the rules.

Nope, Yu-Na already maxed out her jump composition. 3F-3T, 3Lz-2T-(2L), and 2A-3T are her combos. She opted not to do 2L on the 2nd combo in last two events. Increasing technical difficulty is the last thing Yu-Na and her team should worry about. Those three combos alone usually get her about 30 points. As long as she lands all the jumps, she's gonna be almost impossible to beat.

Yep, Yu-na could probably go for a 3 lutz/triple toe, but she won't get any extra points for doing so. (I think that's the problem with this current system...)

I remember reading somewhere that she once when she was younger did a 3 lutz/3 toe at Korean Nationals..And according to the Japanese article she was doing 3 lutzs/3 toes in practice, unless they confused it with a 3 flip/3toe.

I just noticed something that's crazy!!!

Look at Yukari Nakano's protocols! can someone explain this to me?

how could this happen? Did she really flutz in one competition and lip in another competition?

No, Nakano did not lip. This is a good example that Technical Specialists(in this case Todd Sand) are not so reliable. Human naked eyes can not detect edge errors correctly. Flutzers will never lip. That is common sense. Nakano maybe used the out edge during the approach but changed to the inside edge when she really took off. Todd Sand's naked eyes could not detect the change of edges because Nakano did so quickly. I strongly recommend to use slow motion videos. Or forget about the edge calls all together.

Yet, you seem to see "perfectly" every time YuNa supposedly lips-according to your amazing eye sight.

Hey tiara, Caption Picard called. He orders you to give Geordi his visor back. Oh, the Federation wants you to reimburse them for crashing poor Data's computer brain with your endless illogical absurdity.
