Akiko was delightful. Too bad about the pops.

Don't like Alena's programs and her free skate was not good. She had good tech in the sp, but was way over-scored on PCS for her sp. She should not be in front of Ashley, IMHO.
What a wuzrobbed for Ashley! A case of the judges looking at elements and not at the complete programs and overall skill. Alena doubled some jumps and the program didn't have great impact at all.
I have mixed feelings about Akiko winning especially after those mistakes.

Not a deserved win for Akiko...she got the same score here as she did at Skate Canada when there were less mistakes and a better performance. It doesn't matter, though, as long as Mao wins TEB next week. I'm quite certain she will win as long as she just does a clean SP and LP and forgets about the Triple Axel. She doesn't need it to win (that goes for Worlds this season too).
Well, Mao had a HUGE mistake in the SP with only doing a 1Axel, which put her 8.13 points behind Suzuki going into the LP. This final result I believe is the right one. Neither Suzuki nor Asada (those two-footed landings; under-rotations; Lutz edge call) were perfect in the LP, but Akiko was perfect as she could be in the SP, the best SP by the women so far this season!
