Ladies LP

Mao

Mao is an alien. She is definitely more talented than much hyped Yu Na. I want her to crush Yu-Na.

Mao does NOT need coach!!!

missed a jump, stream froze, but I suspect a 3flip combo
2axel-2axel
3lz-3toe
3flip
3 lutz
2axel
3toe, very ur, landing forward

Wow. Are Mao and Yuna the only ladies skaters who've crested 130? How are the other girls supposed to be able to catch that?

Some days I prefer Mao. More days Yuna. I really like both of them. But I don't think either of them are THAT far ahead of the competition.

Na-Young Kim
Gypsy medley
Black and red dress

Poor girl has to skate after a near-perfect Mao...
3F-2T, very nice
2A-2A, nice again!
3Z-2T, the pressure isn't getting to her
Flying sit spin, nice cannonball into pancake
Combo spin, she's quite flexible
3F, cleanly done
3Z, she's got great quick turns in the air
Spiral sequence, positions so-so
2A, good!
Circular steps, goes to music but very simple
3T, stumble out
Combo spin, good speed and nice I-position
Layback, back bend quite good

Korea's got a solid skater to back Yu-Na up now. Great news for me

korean

This korean girl's jumps are very strange. She has two most difficult jumps - lutz & flip and repeated them both in the program, on the other hand, she has no other triples.

Na-Young inches ahead of Mira into 3rd with 158.49. Strangely, her most reliable triples are the lutz and flip, and those are the only ones she usually attempts. There's definitely a lot of potential here.

The American ladies results here have me really worried about Worlds. I won't be surprised if the U.S ends up with only one spot for LA Worlds next year.

Na-Young was wonderful. This competition has been like her coming-out party. Exciting talent. :)

I doubt that Korean girl will beat Wager at worlds. The scores were vastly inflated probably to curry some favor with local audience.

korean girl skated pretty well. she is very "loose" though. for a program like this, you would want a more snappy performance, i think. and as most of the korean skaters, she needs to point her toes, get better extension, and more exciting spins.

Anastasia Gimazitdinova

2sal-2axel seq
3lz
3flip, big jumps, like Julia Sebestien
3toe-2toe
3toe
3sal, here it is!
2sal-1toe

A very good performance! She held her own, very happy for her

I can see us having the same issue Canada did last year when Joannie placed 10th and Mira placed 24th, but they are both going to Worlds this year, thanks to Joannie. As long as 1 of the American ladies places in the top 12, I've heard that 2 can still go to the following World Championships. I really hope Richard has helped Kimmie!

Oriental Selections
Fugly costume...that's all I have to say

Let's see if she can capitalize on the positive energy in the arena...
2R-2A, opened up on loop
3Z, hangs on
3F, she gets good height but rotation is slow
3T-2T, good
Really funky music
3T, nice soft landing
Flying sit spin, nice and low with COE and cannonball
3S, clean as a whistle
Spiral sequence, okay
Layback, PJ Kwong likes it, very simple
SLSS , in character with the very "ethnic" music
2S-1T, too bad
Combo spin, she seems tired
Change-foot-sit, slow and a bit unsteady

She is very happy. Another good performance.

:( low scores for Anastasia

Alright!!! Are we about to see the first ladies Quad under COP??? OMG OMG OMG!!!!

8th overall with 150.07. Still a big PB for her.

Uzb

what's wrong with that UZB lady. I think she's terrific... Strange score.

Lost my feed, damn.

Miki Ando

3lz-2loop, barely held on, not an encouraging start
2sal, fall :(
3flip
3loop
3lz
3toe-2loop-2loop
2axel-2loop

Rochette might beat this me thinks. Popping and falling on the quad took the energy off of the program and me :( but at least it wasn't a repeat of NHK!
