Ladies LP

At least, my prediction has turned out to be true.

Great skates, ladies! Congrats to the top 3.

So, no quad for Miki... or just not today.

Something wrong with the ice? Miki wobbles and nearly falls out of the COE spiral. (...)

Maybe the ice surface is warm and soft...

I think her arm/back injury might be giving her trouble again. If it was the ice, I think the jumps would suffer. Miki said once that spins/spirals/steps make her arm hurt more than the jumps...
Maybe the pain causes her to lose concentration, which results in "odd" mistakes.

This time Kim only has 8 points more than the second-placed skater - overall a margin of 20 points. Not too bad.

Now I want to see the protocols!

Eh....

Even commentator said it, but Miki didn't really have any "artistic" values, but jumps after jumps; personally I didn't like her program this time even though I like her so much!

I enjoyed Nakano's program the best.. I also like Yuna's but her spins gotten slower. as for miki, she just don't have much in betweens.

In the instant replay on NBC, Yu-na had a very lip. I am kinda getting angry with this judging system almost choosing just which skaters get picked on. They seem to be forgetting Yu-na's mistakes. Not that there were many mistakes, but she isn't as perfect as she is being made to seem.

Well, if we ( Americans ) want a lady in the Final, it looks like the weight of the world is now on Caroline's little shoulders.

I happy with how the event was scored. Yu-Na, Yukari and Miki were amazing.

I'm really happy that Rachael got 4th. She's so consistent and will be better as the season goes on, I'm sure.

I'm brokenhearted for Kimmie. I want her to do well so badly.

Six underrotation calls for Nagasu - none for Flatt though, that's good, only minor edge calls on the Lutz. And Nakano had no underrotations - a solid 5 Triple performance.

Kim got dinged for her sloppy spins... Rightly so.

Wow, Kimmie not even in the top 6, and Rachael and Mirai 40-50 points out of gold. The US ladies have a long way to climb for the rest of the season.

Yu-na was hardly skating her best. If she had nailed the 3R (granted that's always iffy), done spins and footwork she's really capable of, and done the 3F-3T up to her normal standards, she'd easily break 200. But very good so early in the season. Wouldn't mind her not peaking before World's for once. :p

Good job for Yukari & Miki, too! They both skated well, with little bobbles and checks here and there, but on the whole very good. They seem very focused and prepared at this early point of the season. I wonder if the downgrades on the 3R is going to make Miki really re-think her jumps layout. Without the two downgrades in SP & LP (if she'd only stuck to 3-2's), she'd beat Yukari to the silver.

Can't wait to see a new batch of girls next week. Caroline, Carolina, Joannie. Whee!

Downgraded?

I'm sorry but that is really nitpicking on the 3 loop.

I agree.

I think Yuna and Yukari looks great for it being this early in the year. Miki looks more like what we expect from skaters.

I love Yuna's selections from Scherezade, especially the slss. This season is going to be great!

If Yuna does lip it's very hard to see in real time. Wrong edge take offs arn't allowed to be reviewed in slow motion and their for severe and obvious wrong edge take offs. If it's there Yuna's is not obvious.
