Li Zijun

The FS music itself is an impactful piece of music , it is deep, big, sweeping and powerful in the movie (when used as a supporting sound track). As for Zijun's FS music editing. it sounds like a climax right after another like OS said. lacks variation, thus a bit monotone. especially the second half before ending. combined with Zijun's usual lack of stamina during that part. the music itself did not pop out(climax fatigue), Zijun also don't have the ability to out perform the music.
An original music choice like this one is absolutely deserves to be appraised. but music editing, how to create memory choreo is completely another business, even was given the same raw material.
also I think @qwertyskates's comment regarding music has its validity.
I don't think it is specifically about hating this original music choice. it is about generally how to use music to help/carry your skating.
And music really significantly influence the perception of a performance even it is the exact execution capability of a skater.
Study similar oriental influenced music choice. how the music/choreo give you chills, such as Yuna's homage to korea and Yuzuru's seimei both of these programs deserves to be studied in terms of music editing, style, choreo etc. both of these programs has very strong second half and impactful choreo stsq.
however, for example, Zijun's choreo stsq is not that effective in terms of impact on audience. although she did lots of moves
I agree that Zijun should continue to take on powerful music like this in the future and not be afraid of stamina but conquer that demon, Great and cleverly edited music can help.

watched FS again, although the music/editing is a bit climax fatigue. but it is still a very powerful piece.
I think the problem is the lack memorable choreo moves that punctuate at specific moments throughout this piece. or in general, connection of moves to music.
The latter could be resolved by Zijun through effort in execution.

While I applaud her courageous new approach for her program and like the music, your analysis on the music hits on the nail. People on the board talked exclusively about the dramatic final pose lied down on the ice instead of the general choreography. Some felt it was too much, the other loved it.

I personally loved her music and program and Zijun was the highlight at cup of Russian for me even though i am a huge fan of Shoma and Anna. She looked divine in Red and the way she moves really is gorgeous.

:laugh::laugh: I was just thinking how great it would be if Misha was there for Zijun!!!

Super Misha : Skater, Choreographer, and Translator
There's quite a number of superheroes this FS season:laugh:
BatLiza, SpiderBoyang & now SuperMisha :agree::agree:
