I still think that she excels better in classical and elegant music.

there is something you are naturally good at, there is also something you are intent to explore. that is called self growth.

TBH, zijun's exploration in all categories are actually decent. Some of her work I like (perhaps not that classical or elegant, well I really know.. different from claire de lune is better way to say it). Dark Eyes, OG season cute sweet Tango. the devil cat.
Her range is actually broader than certain current champion isn't it.
Also I like her flower waltz and of course claire de lune. there 2 maybe should be categorized as classical and elegant?

Yeah, but still that song is not her choice and she had never heard of it until Lori showed her. Actually, I am not sure if Zijun became Jane's fan after using her song or she was already her fan before that.

It is one song that I saved in my ipod while I am skating myself, cos I think it is a great music suited for figure skating. So someday, i came across somewhere, and found that Zijun likes this song as well. I felt somewhat connected. That's all.

I dont know when exactly I found out that, a while ago, anyways, I dont care as well. as long as you really felt your chosen music. But I wont choose "Only for love" for my skating that is for sure. Zijun said, sometimes, when she skated her FS in practice, without realize it, she was weeping.
it must be a huge emotional drain for her to skate this music for a full season....

I just badly want that she can find a Russian choreographer because It seems that she will definitely go back to Russia for summer training and she have a good cooperation with Mishin. But I have to realize that it is not gonna happen because she loves Lori to death and Chinese Fed loves Lori to death

I was really shocked to read the article about Zhijun's strict diet. It's titled : "Jumping until heaven falls and earth cracks".
"For a long time, she wouldn’t eat proper meals, didn’t even drink enough water. Sometimes, when she was so thirsty she couldn’t stand it, she would rinse her mouth with water and then spit it out,” said her mom, Chunyan Li. She would be able to bear it for a day or two, but they lived that way for about a year. Daughter unable to eat, she would go hungry as well. Sometimes, mother and daughter both kept awake by hunger at night, in neighbouring beds listening to each other’s stomachs growling, gathering strength and encouragement from each other."

I'm surprised that such a dangerous diet is still allowed in this day and age, at an elite sport level. No wonder why she was always short on stamina.

Given that she has worked so hard for her dream when she obviously could have a lot more lucrative opportunities outside skating, I wish she can pull through all issues.

At that time she was coached by Li Mingzhu who is known to be that strict with female athletes weight control and that's also the reason why Zijun has refused to work with said coach since. But they have now parted amicably and right now Zijun is monitoring her own diet.
While training with Mishin, Mishin even brought her some eggs and said to her that she needs to eat properly to gain strenght, so I think she's on a good way now.

Many coaches like that are still coaching in this sport. There were several Russian girls almost lost their lives because of anorexia... it's good that she no longer works with such coach.

Interesting note. Zijun is right it does not sound Chinese. The music is beautiful but it does not move me, because I don't know whose voice is behind the song, and what the story is about. Zijun might have a personal interpretation but her body movement did not match the highs and lows of the music, not to mention the music is not cut for skating. There are so many great music out there hope she pick a better one next season.

That music is not her choice. Lori picked it for her. She revealed in an interview that when Lori suggested it to her, she felt it was not Chinese music but the lyric sounds like Chinese so she asked Lori: is it a Chinese song?

But she certainly loves that music as she expressed several times already.

What a gorgeous skater. She has it all: nice jumps, beautiful spins, stunning artistry. Why on earth does she not have a better reputation; am I missing something here?

I myself haven't really heard of her but she is an absolute balletic vision on ice IMO; love your version to Fantasy.

Thanks Jan Elle, her PCS are a mystery to me as well.. I can understand that she doesn't get PCS as high as Carolina Kostner or Kaetlyn Osmond, but you would think she would at least consistently score more than Elisabeth Tursynbaeva, Courtney Hicks and Nicole Schott and Leona Hendrix.
