Loena Hendrickx

Loena had a very strong first segment. I'd love to see her winning a Gold tomorrow but a part of me would also like to see Sakamoto making a history through becoming the first World Champion three times in a row since 1960s in her discipline.

Loena will miss Worlds as well as Europeans, due to damaged ligaments in the ankle she broke in 2019, which require surgery, per this article: https://sporza.be/nl/2025/01/27/loe...seizoen-en-kiest-voor-operatie~1737981918591/

"Mijn enkel is op", zegt ze. "Het beperkt me enorm hard in mijn afsprong, waardoor ik de moeilijkste sprongen niet kan doen om op topniveau te presteren."
Rough translation: "My ankle is damaged," she says. "It limits me significantly in my landing, so that I can't do the hardest jumps to perform at the highest level."

😢😭
...no time to type anything, just few words (in hurry)....I am stricken by this bad news🥺 and, at the same time, happy that finally her ankle problems will be addressed.

her last year's LP choreography ( Solya) was not ankle friendly at all, even more than not ankle friendly
that LP might have been the last drop to destroy what was left to keep her ankle together

Thanks for the info. While watching European’s sp yesterday I wondered why she was missing. I checked Wikipedia and was surprised to see that she doesn’t have an entry in the English language version (but her brother does). She was sorely missed yesterday. I wish her a speedy recovery and hope she can be fighting fit for the Olympic season.
