.. was curious about this Fumie's 2006/2007 season saying 100%? I must not understand these listings. What about 4cc?

It's the weighting factor: this season's points count for 100%. Earlier seasons are weighted less as time goes on, until they drop out of the formula.

For the yearly bonus, though, only the current year counts, and then only a subset of the events.

Thanks, how are the "subset" events chosen? - what counts and doesn't.

It's explained here: http://www.isu.org/vsite/vfile/page/fileurl/0,11040,4844-179916-197134-115236-0-file,00.pdf

It says only one ISU championship counts--that can be Worlds, Euros, or 4cc. (So for Brian, Euros points don't count). The one with the highest points counts(not points as in competition score, but points designated to the winner, second place finisher, etc, of each event as it is weighed, with Worlds being most important.)

Two Grand Prix results count, including the Grand Prix final.

Two ISU accepted Senior Internationals that are not championships count as a separate category.

The points go up by 50 for each placement at Worlds, the Grand Prix and Senior internationals. So 1st place gets 50 points more than 2nd, etc.

For Brian and Daisuke, it basically went like this:

Brian--50 points ahead at Worlds; 50 points ahead at the Grand Prix(the final and one other event counted for each, and they both had a first place highest event before the final); 150 points behind in "other Senior internationals", because he didn't go to any. Daisuke skated at the Winter Universiade, which helped him(he also won the Universiade in 2005).

Brian did get $20,000 for winning Euros. I'm not sure what the ISU's rationale is for including only one championship score in the standings, though I guess it might be that Euros is only for Europeans, and that 4ccs is often considered so close to Worlds that it becomes like a B-international(but not this year). The winner of 4ccs also gets $22,500 just for the one competition.
