Lost (the TV show)

I'm hoping for a "time warp" or a "parallel universe"...........I love sci-fi... 42

I do too!

Question--I missed the first 5 minutes tonight. Uh, have they buried the dead? If not, the decaying smell would be unbearable

Nope, dead people still in plane. That's why the large guy (Hurley???) wouldn't go in the fuselage...

Laura :)

I'm on the west coast, so I am guessing everyone else has seen episode three. I think its amazing that there are 48 survivors, but only about 15 are highlighted. You see all these people talking and wandering around in the background that aren't part of the storyline..........yet...........42

I thought tonights episode was nice how they gave some back story into one of the characters... I bet they will feature a new person every week kinda like they did on the 4400.

The older man has an artificial leg, right? He did manage to kill a boar, not an easy task. Those critters are very mean!

Who was the mysterious man in a business suit who kept appearing to the doctor? Do you think it was a vision or a ghost?

By older man, do you mean the bald guy, Lock? Apparently 4 years before the crash something happened that he couldn't walk and since the crash he can walk. Lock said he didn't see the "thing" in the forest when asked, but I think he did.

I was wondering about all the people milling around in the background, too...saying to my husband as we watched "who's that"? Can't figure if that guy in the suit appearing on the edge of the jungle is real or an apparition.

They burned the fuselage with all the bodies in it after boars came into camp rummaging for the bodies. The pregnant girl did a sort of memorial speech about everyone they had some sort of ID on.

I anxiously look forward to Wed. night now! This show has me hook, line and sinker!

Yea, Locke is the name. Now I understand about his legs. Remember that sad flashback of him begging that phone sex operator to go on a trip with him? She hung up on him.

Wow, this wednesday is going to be a tough one for me. I try not to watch a lot of television but my favorite show in the world is the west wing... and it's season premier is 10/20.... and I'm recently addicted to lost as well. Thank heavens for DVR so I can actually get some school work done and watch tv when I actually have time.

My friend and I "watch" certain shows together - in our own homes (and we call each other during commercials - yes, I know, we're dorks). Usually we just do this during America's Next Top Model, but last week we did it for Lost. After the scene where we see that Helen was the phone sex operator, she called and said she wished she hadn't seen that, because she didn't want to know that he was such a big loser in his pre-accident life. But I think that's a large part of the appeal of the show - everyone gets to start over, to some degree or another. In some ways, I like Locke more knowing his backstory.

And I am really grateful that UPN reruns the week's ANTM episode on Friday nights, since it originally runs at the same time as Lost

Ok they are going to have to do some more explaining about the mysteries of the island soon or I'll start loosing interest. I thought the show opened in a really cool way with you just thrown into the action as the doctor tried to rescue the drowning people... but then it turned into some weird kubrick movie where he chased his father around the island. Couldnt handle it. I want more storyline with the group dynamic and less about the individuals. But maybe the whole point is that they werent a group yet. who knows. I like the show, but not impressed with tonights episode.

Ugh! I keep catching bits and pieces and haven't seen an entire episode since the first one. Anyway, I thought the part where the guy walks again was very well done and moving...but then again, I missed the phone sex! I sort of like finding out about each character. You have one view of them as they are on this island, but that isn't necessarily who they really are or were in their real lives. That is an innovative twist.

I just had a horrible thought..........what if everyone on the island is dead, you know, lost souls and all..............42

I believe the article in the tv guide said that everyone on the island being dead and in purgatory is another theory some viewers are coming up with.

Whatever, I still am totally hooked on this show and look forward to Wed. night!

Ok one thing kinda bugged me about tonights episode... when the korean gentleman was handcuffed to the airplane in the hot sun and the doc hands him a bottle of water and tells him to drink it slowly... HOW DID HE EXPECT HIM TO OPEN IT? HIS HANDS ARE TIED??

Ok not a big deal, but it was a little amusing when my boyfriend pointed it out to me.

I missed the rest of the show after Doc wanted to move everyone to the water. Did I miss anything?

Umm your boyfriend should have taken 10 more seconds to figure out the obvious...ONE hand was handcuffed. So you take the free hand that's holding the water and lift it up to your cuffed hand and open it. Very simple. Plus, the bottles were being re-used, so it's not like the Korean guy had to break the seal or anything. :)

I believe the episode is going to be re-run next week (Sat) for those that didn't catch the whole thing.

Serenity.........not everyone wanted to leave the beach. Many, including Kate, decided to stay and feed the bonfires. The musician traded his last bit of "coke" for the location of his guitar..........42
