Did i get the wrong skates?

I started figure skating when I was 12, got Edea Overtures at the time in size 250 which was a bit too big due to the fitter thinking I'd still grow. I quit skating when I was 15 and did single jumps. Now I'm 22 (woman, 65kg, 160cm) 20kg heavier than when i was 12, and started skating again. I used my old overture's but they felt so wonky and didn't support me at all. Got fitted at a skate shop and they recommended Ice Fly in size 245 for my age and weight, so I got those. Now I tried skating on them and I feel like I completely lost all my skill, I can't find the rocker on the new blades & am scared to try out the jumps I was comfortable in on the overture's.. Did I get the wrong skates? I also get a lot of pain on the bone sticking out on the inner ankle. I contacted the skate shop and they said to buy gel pads and use those around my ankles. I don't know what to do and feel really self conscious and anxious about going back to my group lesson on the ice fly's..

Hi. If you're truly meant "foot wise" for an Edea boot, you are way overbooted. You would only need to move up to the Chorus from the Overture.

What is your foot type? Arches: very high, high, normal, low, flat?

I also get a lot of pain on the bone sticking out on the inner ankle. I contacted the skate shop and they said to buy gel pads and use those around my ankles.
You should not continue to skate with your current boots as-is. You can do substantial harm to your ankles. Should you wish to continue with your current boots until you replace them with something more suitable, or should you want to keep your current boots for future use when you are more advanced, you should have ankle pockets punched out in the boots to provide sufficient clearance for your ankle bones. For best results, the appropriate areas of the boots should be spot heated before punching. Gel pads will provide extra cushion and comfort, but have the punching done first to provide proper clearance.

Sounds like you fit Edea, so the boot isn't the biggest problem. Ice Flyes are stiff but not that stiff that you can't make them work. For the inner ankle bone pain, don't get gel pads, they will only make the pain worse. You need to get those punched out. Also, make sure you're not tying the boot too tight past the first hooks, which will break the boots fast, make the pain worse, and make you feel like you can't do anything, because the boots are really stiff still. They will feel a little softer once you break in the tongue.

What blade did you get and what did you have before? Difficulty with the rocker suggests a blade/mounting issue, since all Edea boots are similar in that regard.

Size 245 and 250 Edea fit the same size blade, so you could go back to you old blades if they have life in them still.
