Maia Shibutani & Alex Shibutani

Who else watched their debut as actors? :p . They did it very well.

Now I am waiting someone upload their exhibition of nationals. I still wonder what happened with the program that Jeff Buttle choreographed for them

I haven't seen it yet, but I'm looking forward to it once it's uploaded.

I don´t think the episode will be uploaded to youtube because it is new. Maybe someone will upload their scene, it is a short one, probably the same scene posted previously in the nickelodeon website. I am glad the tv show made an episode about ice dance, I hope some curious child has gone to youtube to search about the sport.

Can someone post their TV appearance, please ? I would love to see the shibs there :D
I hope their youtube chanel continues to grow, this is great for figure skating and Ice Dance in America.

[QUOTE Maybe there was no such thing as gala by Buttle? Did they just get an input to their free program from him?[/QUOTE]

In their Toronto trip vlog, they made clear they were creating a show program. They've also given both Lambiel and Buttle (as well as Tchernyshev) credit for helping to influence them as skaters. They are integrating elements and what they've learned from everyone into their competitive programs.

My sense from observing how the Shibs seem to "know what they want to say" both on and off the ice , I fully expect that there is a smart, thought out strategy guiding when they will perform the Buttle show program.

Alex said in instagram that maybe today they will post a link :)

Maia and Alex did a GREAT acting debut - although those purple costumes that Tom and Anne were wearing in the beginning of the episode were a bit ridiculous.

But Maia and Alex looked and performed wonderfully - as always.

First time watching the instagram live, I don´t know if they had done this before but it was so uncomfortable for me :disapp:, there were many stupid, rude and vulgar comments and questions. Poor Shibs, obviously they kept cool as ever. Anyway, I think I understood they are indeed working and improving their FD, they are happy about their SD having so many views on facebook and they are excited about to skate in Korea (4cc). The most annoying feature of Alex to Maia is that he is frequently late and for Alex is annoying that Maia is better than him at a lot of stuff .

They are total pros and can handle themselves in any situation with aplomb. Instagram is part of Facebook, and given the bandwidth and visibility of these platforms plus the profile of Team USA's account on a day when NBC was hyping the one-year out to the Olympics date, it's inevitable that it attracts random "anonymous" riff-raff/trolls, etc. Sadly, it's the 'new normal' but if anyone can handle themselves with poise and class through ANY audience, it's Maia and Alex.

For anyone interested, Maia and Alex will be doing a Facebook Live session on the Olympic FB page today at 1:30 pm EST.
