Well, so I think is definitive. I hope she is healthy and does not feel too much pressure. We will have a wonderful christmas enjoying her beautiful skating.

In this clip (posted on Dec 12), Daisuke gives his preview on the upcoming Japan Nationals. Around 9:10 towards the end, he mentions Mao. He says he saw Mao when practicing at Shin Yokohama recently (probably due to the current Christmas on Ice show) Dai-chan is quoting Mao: 'Finally (I) am able to make a shift in (how I) feel', in her tone of voice. And Dai-chan sounds quite positive about Mao at Nationals, saying hopefully we'll see a strong Mao there, which is a good sign, I guess.

The long and elegantly drawn out frontal extension transitioning into an arcing arabesque is magnificent. This performance is a hidden jewel I had never seen before.

I hope Mao is healthy and skates great at Nationals. Most of all, I hope she relaxes and skates with happiness in her heart and I hope her big sister, Mai, is there to give her the support that has helped her so much before.

I love the choreography, spirals, spins, step sequences and costumes in all these programs. What a timeless treasure!

I admit Mao's pink dress is one of my very favorites but I am still glad she switched to the red dress for her SP in 2009-2010 because her best performances were in this costume.

rosewood has posted information about Mai's comments referring to Mao's condition at the following site:

From Mai's comments, it sounds like Mao's practices are going better now than during the Grand Prix season, so hopefully she'll have a wonderful showing at Nationals.

Thank you! I'd take a two-footed 3A<< from Mao-chan over any jump landed by the six ladies in the GPF any day.

I'm so enlivened to see that Mao is in good spirits. I hope she delivers two performances that can make her happy and allow the world to feel her passion for skating.
