Mao Asada

Too difficult to make a choice because I really like her programs.
1. Por una cabeza (solo number or partnered with Daisuke)
2. Ballade
3. Ladies in Lavander (I want to see a mature Mao performing this)
4. Jupiter
5. Bells of Moscow (the only performance in Vancouver Olys that I remember till now. And together with Por Una Cabeza, the reason that I became a big Mao fan.

This  I can still wish... :o:

I think I submitted the following in the website poll: Jupiter, Ballade, Por Una and Lavender. I sorta forgot about So deep is the night but that would have been a good one, too. My choices are only from her exhibition pros, though.

I think it is weird that skaters are publishing photos on and off The Ice and Mao is not there . I guess maybe Mao is practicing between shows for the season. And of course my Shibs are not there for take the best photos and videos :disapp:

And yes gotoschool Mao ex are gold. I wish she comebacks with Tat for exhibitions, she did the best programs

According to Kurt Browning the times he was on tour with Mao she was not able to go out with the other skaters because she is so famous. That could be the reason she is not hanging out as much with castmates if they go out. Jeffrey Buttle said Mao is very sweet and kind, but also very quite, so maybe she is not into posing for pictures.

However, I will have to say, there is many pictures and videos of Mao been pretty silly (in a good way) with her friends from team Japan.

According to the picture, apparently she got along with castmates to went an amusement park. (looks that they had so much fun :))

Here are some other pictures from The Ice.

①Mao, Akiko and Kanako ②Mao and Kanako ③Mao, Nobu and Kanako

④Mao,Taka and Mura? ⑤Mao, Adelina and Misha ⑥Mao and Midori

Great pictures with a little zaniness thrown in, yhma fan. Is that Satoko riding a go kart or bumper car? It looks like the whole crew is getting ready for a thrill seeking roller coaster ride with ponchos to protect them from the rain.

Here is a video of Mao answering questions from children. I believe they are some of the hundreds of children and their families who were invited free of charge to the The Ice shows in Sendai, which was an area devastated by the 3 / 11 / 2011 earthquake / tsunami in Japan. I took information from a post by rosewood at fsuniverse and also used google translate for the title of the video to help.

Here is where I got the information from rosewood: http://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/ind...hy-causes-supported-by-skaters-coaches.95379/ post number 24

This is a bit old but also in connection with earthquake relief, rosewood wrote that Mao's THE ICE 2014 donated 5,200,000 yen to support kids who survived the 3.11 great earth quakes and tsunami disaster.

Those photos are included in the pamphlet of this year's The ICE, and yes they are from last year when the group visited the amusement park. There's a two-page interview of Mao in the pamphlet, in which she mentions that they'd organise some fun activities in between the shows for the participating members to relax and have fun.

This is the video from the amusement park outing last year if anyone is interested. IIRC, they had the whole park to themselves.

The shutdown of The Ice YT channel was surprising. I wonder if they (Chukyo TV) couldn't get license to post them anymore

Some more photos from The Ice
Akiko, Mao, Kanako 1
Akiko, Mao, Kanako 2
Mao and Tong Jian
Nobu imitating Mao and Jeff's tango
Mai & Mao
One more show to go
Group selfie

As always, thanks for the links gotoschool and mikaboo.

 Honestly I didn't know that.

Here are more Mao and Kanako photos from the amusement park thing.

I am glad you found out something new about Mao and her generosity, yhma fan.

Reposting from The Ice thread

Here is one of the few youtube videos I could find of The Ice Performances. Side by side performances of Por Una Cabeza with Mao solo on the left and with Jeffrey on the right. What an incredible delight!

Thanks for the very high quality and interesting video.
The EX program(s) shows how musically and artistically she is and that makes me want to see her new programs even more. :yay:

Thank you! I guess since she's debuting in Japan Open the pressure will get to her, but I wish her luck.

That's a really strange way of wishing Mao luck. It would be nice if you could be more encouraging considering this is the Mao fan thread (or on any thread for that matter), but I guess it's your choice to be that way. Three world championships shows that Mao often handles pressure very well. As many others have said, she has already proven herself in giving legendary performances. I am really looking forward to seeing Mao's new LP and hope she performs wonderfully.

Sorry! I didn't mean it that way. I do find myself messing up my wording at times. What I meant to say was that I hope that just like other competitions she can handle the pressure well. I'm excited for her comeback this season too.
