Mao Asada

Omg!! I saw pics from rehearsal and she looks as beautiful, elegant and awesome as ever! I’m sure it will be a huge success! I’d give a kidney to watch this! Love her!!!! ❤️

I don't know if any videos have been posted or not, but here are some clips of Mao's performances across Japan which began this month:

Here is my favorite moment in the short video. It brings back so many deeply moving memories. The triple loop I believe, step sequence and arabesque were done so wonderfully with so much emotion: https://youtu.be/2oR-5lToDcA?t=99 My favorite skater ever and in this short 1 minute clip she has never performed better, in my opinion.

The same moment in the Sochi LP

Re. the broadcast of (part of) the show: perhaps part of the show will be broadcast via this documentary http://www.fujitv.co.jp/fujitv/news/pub_2018/180518-141.html It's scheduled to be aired on Jun 17th. It's a documentary about how the 'Mao thanks tour' project has come to live in the past half year, with backstage footages. (Based on the broadcasting date, the documentary most likely will cover scenes/recorded segments from 1st and 2nd stops of the tour, Niigata and Nagano.)

This group version of 'Bei Mir Bistu Shein' is one of the numbers from Mao's Thanks Tour. According to a newly broadcast documentary, it's Mao's own idea to put 'Bei Mir Bistu Shein' into a group number with her tour members. The re-choreography has been done by herself. I really enjoy her expressions and flirtiness that Mao's capable of showing:

A great group performance! Thanks for sharing.

Good thing that competitors came from around Asia and not only Japan. I wonder if that's the cute little girl from Singapore who did her Rach 2 at Singapore nats who is on the pic (the tallest). She seemed a bit older or likely the same age). And the costume was better.

The 'Mao Asada Trophy' from yesterday was an ISI-Asia (Ice Skating Institute, Asia division) event, not ISU event. The 'Mao Asada Trophy' was a special category set up to celebrate the 30th round of 'Skate Japan' competition under ISI-Asia. Mao said in the news that she couldn't decide the winner between the two girl competitors and had both ranked as winners. The younger one is a 7-yr old from Japan and older one 10-yr old from Thailand. Both happened to dress in costumes similar to Mao's Rach 2 dress.
