COI SP + Encore + Interview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B6KgoP4LqXA 1:26 to 2:57 was just perfection, beautiful lutz, great CCoSp (she improved her spins so much, sob) and step sequence is heaven :luv17: Curious about the lay-out, if she puts only one solo jump (probably lutz) or combo.

Amazing SP, piece of art really! :drama:
Emphasizing all Marin's advantages, letting her breathe and perform as only she is able to perform.

Considering the percentage of Christians in Japan and her words when she was talking about the music, I would say she's not lol. Japan is the land of KFC chicken being considered tradition for Christmas.:scratch2: I'm LOVING the choreography for the the new SP, but not really loving her hands. Too much stress being put into them that it sticks out like a sore thumb which is a pity because everything else from her head movements to arms looks great, but the hands... 1000% better than the tango but continuing the tradition of ?? costumes for the SP I see.

Very beautiful.
So now it really makes sense how much she looks up during this program. I was actually going to guess it had something to do with heaven/God, but I wasn't sure she was Christian. But now I guess she is?
It's great that she actually interprets the music really well! And the choreography was well put together, imo.

Is this her SP for this season? I thought it was some tango music? If this is not her SP, is it her EX then? What is her EX for this season?
Sorry I'm a little confused because it's so hard to keep up with all the skaters! lol
I don't have that much time, unfortunately.
But I like Marin's style, she certainly has a bright future (and present!) in figure skating, so I'm trying to keep an eye on her!

This is her new SP, I think she'll use the tango piece for EX now. Also she's definitely not Christian, I think she chose the music only because she thought it's beautiful.

Now that you talked about her hands I can't stop looking at it and thinking that indeed it looks a bit "stiff", would that be the word?
But I really liked this program anyway!

I haven't seen her tango program. That would be interesting because I only know Marin from Smile and R and J, so a tango would be a major change for me. Is there a link to it? Oh wait, it's in the same video! It started to play the music while I was typing... Hehehe!

Well, maybe it's because of the costume and hair, but I thought the tango program was lacking something? Not sure what to think really. I'll wait to watch a full performance with the dress and hair and makeup and everything.

And I agree with @beatrixkid, she interprets the music so well, it is a joy to watch.
Love Marin!!! :luv17:

I agree. She said that the first time she listened to this music she cried. She felt as if they were destined to meet.

Throwback to Marin's winning free skate from 2016 Worlds! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V5TBxZgPDYk I remember that she said that she didn't really like working with Tom but Beetlejuice is still my favorite one from her :luv17: I loved her sassy side plus there was so many transitions and little, special choreography things in this program

I remember watching it for the first time at JGP Zagreb: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ENp3Sx0ICw.
I was obsessing over Russian skaters back then, pretty much ignoring anybody else, when this girl stepped on the ice and blow my mind completely. I knew immediately the star was born.

I've never seen her skate before COI, and just saw THIS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B6KgoP4LqXA

Just.... wow. It's like a breath of fresh air. I've been waiting for someone like this to come into this sport. The musicality, the edge quality, the technique and lightness of spirit
Thank you for bringing this up. :agree:

I especially love this tiny moment after the spin - it's like hearing high piano notes makes her happy and brings a subtle smile on her face. So amazing... :luv17:

She will be going for 3Lz-3T in short :eekn: Also her attitude

Marin left for Skate Canada this morning. During the early departure, she rubbed her eyes and said “I’m sleepy.”

“It will be my first big senior competition. Last night, I watched the (Rostelecom Cup) mens broadcast and got excited. I’ll have two competitions in a row, so I want to treat the 4 programs as one set so my feelings aren’t interrupted.”

She said “I want to start my SP with a lutz combination.” She always did a 3F3T combo before, but changing to a 3Lz3T increases her base value.

“I felt frustrated for the first time in awhile at Japan Open. I want to treasure this feeling. I’ve properly done my practice. I have confidence,” she said with conviction.
