Max Aaron

I also definitely think he could place above Jason here. A lot of people seem to think Jason has this in the bag but I don't really get why. If Max goes clean with these programs I think he's a force to be reckoned with.

Jason's programs are total masterpieces this season. Jason is also the reigning National champion, while Max is something of an unwanted stepchild to the USFS, or so it would seem. I can see the logic behind the predictions. But I really do think Max can beat Jason here. I think he can beat any of the skaters here.

The Short will be the key in my opinion. Split second confidence.

If Max can lay down a short like at Nebelhorn but with better spins, he'll be hard to beat.

Our SnuggleBat will be out to make a statement, that's for sure!

I don't think everyone would agree that Jason's LP in particular is a masterpiece- I personally actually do like it (though I'm not sure it's masterpiece level) but it seems to be hit or miss with a lot of people, even people who have consistently been his fans. I view Jason's biggest problem, candidly, as his jumps though. If he can land them, I do think he'll probably beat Max, but based on what we've seen so far this season I don't think that his landing them seems particularly likely.

I do take our point about Jason being the USFSA golden boy though.

Of course. And Jason is a late-season skater at any rate. Max's jumps were all good at Nebelhorn and even the two errors in the FS were relatively minor - a headspace issue not a technical one, and one that I'm sure Max has worked on since. I do think he'

I fear that at Nationals we'll see a whole new definition of "golden boy", and it won't be any of the golden trio it would be directed at.

:agree: Go, Max!

Max is featured in an Edea promotional video for Skate America:

Also featured are Gracie, Alexa/Chris, Stasia/Colin.
(A shame that Colin's last name is misspelled in the video :bang:.)

ETA/BTW, Max's #throwback photo/autograph included in a @SkatesUS wall of same showing many skaters:

Thinking of whom you might speak; I hope this is not so. If USFS wants to reward for jumps, I hope they recognize SnuggleBat.
Go Max and Jason and Ross Miner too!:cheer:

So I really hope Max makes it to worlds so one of you all going can scream out "Go SnuggleBat" loud enough to get picked up for all of us at home to hear.

Nice Engine would work too... but some of you might be more comfortable with Go SnuggleBat!

I really like this new nickname for Max and hope it sticks.

I fear I would dissolve into a pile of incoherent giggles before I could ever get it out!

SnuggleBat producing mixed reports from Skate America. Many comments on his choice of practice attire which treats us to a nice view of his abs and his underwear. SnuggleBat is very fit. ;)

Please excuse karne for a moment while she wails:

ahem.

I thought of you! I knew you would like it ;)

SnuggleBat practice updates: reports saying he landed "huge" 4S-3T and 3A and had a great SP run-through this morning. Also reports saying this morning SnuggleBat's underwear had some pink on it and his abs are just as perfect as yesterday.

Here is SnuggleBat being adorable, fascinating, and determined by turns for TSL. Particularly interesting listening to him talk about the sheet of ice and the way it "breaks" under the edge affecting his timing on the 4S, which might explain why he popped/fell on a few yesterday but seemingly nailed them all this morning.

SNUGGLEBAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!

Ohmygosh I'm so proud of him. :yay: :yay: :yay:

Now let's hope he can hold it together tomorrow! Go, SnuggleBat!

Okay, now I'm in full-on nervous mode ahead of the FS. I mean, it's clear the FS is now radically different to what it was at Nebelhorn and that just makes me really nervous. I just want him to win this so badly.

Also, SnuggleBat, we need to talk about your terrible hair. AGAIN.

Sooo happy and proud of our Max!!! Really looking forward to the FS now :cheer:

Nicky and Chris on ESP were gushing so much, it was adorable

They were completely awesome  Here's the link. I may have watched it multiple times already.

Aside: do you know if British Eurosport did Brendan? I can't find a video with their commentary and I really wanted to hear it. I needed a palate cleanser after Ryan Bradley's awful commentary on him yesterday.
