Max Aaron

One thing I do have to say... please don't wear black... lions are not black. Solids are fine if needed, but we kinda need some color here. I do actually think that Max's subtle style could suit this better than most. Some ballet style tights and a shirt similar in cut to his FS this year but in warm Lion/Desert tones (or tone) would be lovely.

As for the tanning comments... I think the just like to find excuses.

Men aren't allowed to wear tights. Max flirts hard with that costume violation with his leggings already, no need to actually seal the deal by putting him in tights. I mean, it's not like that'd be an awful look :o: but...not worth the violation.

I think keep it simple, because that's how he is. Keep the black leggings, and perhaps a paler top, in desert tones as you say...perhaps in the style of Joshua's Schindler's List shirt? An ombre effect, perhaps? Simple, minimalistic.

As for the tanning comment - it's not like he needs it! He's much darker in skin tone than a lot of the other US men already, no need to tip him over into the Evan Lysacek School Of Orange.

Ok he should keep wearing his tight pants that are totally not tights...but I may still call tights to keep it shorter;)

I think this would be perfect. I have thought gradation style of Josh's would look good on Max for awhile now... I just worry that might be too unsimple for him. Honestly even just a solid color would make me happy at this point. But I agree this works well with a simple/classic look. Your idea is perfect.

Yeah, i think they just like tanning and like to project the excuse on others.

Meanwhile, here's Max dancing in a Team USA video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xv0tuc9Hl5Q.

I was really impressed. Not just with Max's dancing - but surprised that he danced better than Sam Mikulak (gymnastics) and the boxing team. I figured they would be the best at busting a move.

But, in the spirit of constructive criticism, Max needs to get with John Orozco (gymnastics), that paralympic judo guy, and the wrestlers. They were impressive!

Love, love, love :luv17: Max's great showmanship and sheer joy :hap93: in this video.
He does a great job of representing figure skating :dance2:.
His solo contributions of dancin', jumpin', and lip-synchin' shine brightly, but seeing him front and center leading  some of the group choreo :hap36: just might be my favorite part of all.

And the video as a whole has a terrific mix of Olympians, Paralympians, and hopefuls, from both summer and winter sports -- mostly relatively obscure.
Happy to see lots of lesser-knowns featured along with the bigger names of Orozco and Mikulak (both of whom I do like).
The video even has a brief shot of a dancing dog :yay:.

ETA (on Apr 2, 2018):

The YouTube link now is dead, but this one still is working:

DancingBat has made karne very happy and smiley today! He really can dance! And his big happy smile!

Perhaps they recruited him for this video between Max's Pokemon hunting sessions...

Just noticed that @jtimberlake himself quoted and responded to Team USA's tweet that had the embedded video.

So .... seems that JT himself prob. would have viewed the performance of DancingBat and the others :dance2:.
Not to mention some percentage of JT's 55.8 million followers . (10% would be 5.5 million :yay:.)

I myself am officially obsessed . Have watched it at least five times and counting. For one thing, can't get enough of Max's smile and energy :agree:.

RodeoBat?

I hope he didn't try to ride. He's too small!

I don't think his size is the problem - many guys that are in rodeo aren't the biggest guys you've seen. But rodeo riding requires a certain level of insanity and general avoidance about your safety that I'm assuming Max doesn't have. Not quite as bad as those guys that do the Running of the Bulls in Pamplona, but still - you get thrown around a lot.

I do, however, wonder what Max looks like wearing one of those awesome cowboy hats.

Very interesting clip. 4T is <, but not by much. He was off-balance from the first jump. I'm glad though that they're clearly working on the 4T. Perhaps SnuggleBat is up for a tech upgrade this season?

What I find just as interesting, or even more so, is that not two hours later, Brendan posted this clip. I don't feel like it was a coincidence.

I don't think it is a coincidence either.

I am sure people talk. And really this was only a mater of time and it was a logical step.

An UR on a 4T is worth 8 points, a 3T is worth 4.3. A 2T is worth 1.3. So really it may not be that bad of an idea to try. If they can even remotely get it to a pretty looking UR, it likely is worth it mathematically. Even on a downgrade, assuming they are replacing a 2T, it really does not sting that much. I also love that both of them train it by doing singles first then the 4T... interesting to see, never knew it was done like that.

Ill be interested to see what jumps are paired with it. Is Brendan going for a 3A or 2A to start it? Even a 2A+4T would be beautiful to see, plus he could then still do a 3A+3T. It looks like Max does a single loop as the entry, so is he thinking of going a 3L+4T? That seems and interesting choice. I wonder if we will see a 4S+4T attempt soon.

This week Max will return to US Collegiates.

(According to the schedule, only one Senior Man is competing ... so I'm sad that Dornbush apparently will not be there.

IN will have Results on this page:

But not video (same as last year).
... Icenetwork will provide articles and photos from the event.
http://web.icenetwork.com/schedule/2016/07/2016_us_coll_champs

If I am reading the schedule (combined schedule for Collegiates and Colorado Championships) correctly:

6:30 - 6:55 pm Friday
SP for Collegiate Junior Men (two entries) and Collegiate Senior Men (one entry)

1:30 - 2:00 pm Saturday
FS for Collegiate Junior Men (two entries) and Collegiate Senior Men (one entry)

:bmrk: 2016 US COLLEGIATE CHAMPIONSHIPS :bmrk:

Unrelated photo of Maisy Ma with fellow "M"s Mirai and Max:

Thx again to musicfan  for posting the Team USA video including :dance2: DancingBat :dance2:. Some follow-up:

In the two weeks since it was posted on Jul 13, it has had over 1.4 million views  (combined total of views on FB and YouTube).

(JT shared it on FB as well as Twitter.)

A large image of the group dance with Max was the header of a USA Today article:

Team USA dances to Justin Timberlake's new song in delightful video

The same image was in two tweets from @maggiehendricks:
Team USA made a music video, and it is DELIGHTFUL
It's been a long day. You need to be delighted.

Parts of the video, including Max, were played on a local TV newscast:

And Max was one of the dancing athletes mentioned by name in an article on the Today show website about the video.
(This article also was in the OP of stella luna's thread in The Edge: http://goldenskate.com/forum/showthread.php?59906-Snugglebat-Alert)

Hope that Max's name, face, smile :), wink ;), jump, and/or moves will ring a bell down the road for those who had been unaware of him before the video but come across him again later.

Just noticed a couple of new sentences from Phillip Mills re his continuing work with Max:

Having the opportunity to work intently with Max ... is a unique and pleasurable experience. Max and I have formulated a tight plan for our upcoming second season together. We will continue our efforts while developing his new programs for the 2016 – 2017 season focusing on further refinement of pure classical lines and enhancing his skating skills with a renewed focus.

Oh please please please please please let someone be there taking videos! New Max programs - and this weekend! It is earlier than I could have hoped! I thought he was going to make us wait all the way until September! Oh, I'm so excited, I can't wait, our first real sighting of Max on ice for the new season, and two new programs to sink the teeth into and dissect and enjoy.

How am I going to survive this weekend, with Max at Collegiates and Brendan and Jason at Glacier Falls and following the updates? Is some kind soul going to this comp?

StitchMonkey? Aren't you in the area?

LOL... it is sorta in the area, but not really convenient. Basically it is on the opposite side of Denver that i live. It would be about the same drive time as driving down to 7K for me - and that is a less stressful drive for that matter. My better-half is looking like he may have to go into work this Saturday after a long week, so it is pretty up in the air. He is not opposed to going on Saturday, but I am not going to push the issue, he has a crappy week and I don't want to push him too much and I don't really like going alone.

At the same time, i have seen Max in person twice but never compete a program...so yes the temptation is strong. Sad we don't have more of a turnout this year, but ohh well. Still hope we at least get glimpses of Max. It is a possibility but I don't want to get my hopes up.

Ah, tsk, tsk, SnuggleBat! What's this 3S-3T business?!

I like the comment: transitions were scored very strictly.

BUT WHAT WAS THE MUSIC?!?!??!?!?!!?!?!?

Sorry I wish I had more info but I saw the tweet and thought of you.
