Aaron had an off night, as he doubled the second jump of his planned quad salchow-triple toe and fell on his triple axel.
"I'm disappointed by my scores. I would have expected 76 points, not 72," Aaron said of his seventh-place short. "I think I need to learn to control my excitement and my energy more."

Max is briefly mentioned in an IN article written after the cancellation of TEB:
I mean no disrespect to the nation in mourning, but I do hope that Max and other skaters had a chance to taste a little wine on this unexpected day off in Bordeaux.

A rather cute quotation from Max. And, I agree, a little wine tasting and celebration recognizing the value of life & freedom is a more than acceptable response to a tragedy of this magnitude.

Max has evidently been assigned to Golden Spin of Zagreb too(I don't like that that emoticon is frowning because I'm mostly happy about this, but wow, this is a lot of assignments...)
He was showing up on it for awhile before, then disappeared, now he has reappeared. Who knows if he will disappear or reappear again.
It is also right before the GPF, when were entries due/finalized?

Really? Didn't the entries list pretty much just go up? it wasn't there 8 hours ago... how odd.
I am a little disappointed honestly if he is going (I know I'm a bad fan) because if he is it means he took the spot from Sean Rabbitt, who I really wanted to have his first CS event ever.

it was around the time Rabbitt was added. There was some shuffling as there has been in the past on that page. Actually that page still shows Rabbitt as going and Max not. So who knows. It does seem odd he would have been signed up for this with the GPF still up in the air.

Oh I have seen that but never without Sean listed. I do think it's sort of cruel in general to tell skaters they have an assignment and then to take it away but that's life I guess. Thanks for the info.

I look at the USFS assignments page quite frequently.
And I had never noticed that Max was ever listed there for Golden Spin. But maybe I blinked and missed it.
Anyway, thanks to tulosai for the alert that he is on the ISU list for Golden Spin. Link for reference:
Meanwhile, it theoretically would be possible to compete both at Golden Spin (Dec 2-5) and the GPF (Dec 10-13) ... if/if/if Max qualifies for the GPF. Or of course, if Max is so lucky as to qualify for the GPF, I suppose he could withdraw from Golden Spin.
But my head is spinning with all the changes.
I do feel bad that Sean had believed that he would be going to Zagreb.
(And I would feel bad for Tim re Tallinn too, except that it's not clear to me whether USFS actually led Tim to believe he was going or not -- no matter what the ISU page for Tallinn said.)

I wonder if something is potentially going on about using Golden Spin as a chance to put down an LP for potential GPF qualification.
But none of the other TEB skaters seem to be there...
I am looking forward to seeing our SnuggleBat at Tallinn - and the men's SP is even at a good time for me despite Europe!

This was my thought too but then like you said none of the other skaters who could benefit are signed up. Honestly, separate from the issue of spots being taken from others or not, I am cynical and kind of wonder if USFSA is giving Max these opportunities because it believes in him, or if it is giving him these opportunities to see whether he screws up or not in trying to 'evaluate' him before nationals.
I'm also super excited to see Max tomorrow at Tallin though! Glad to see the SP is at a good time for you too!

Sean Rabbitt is back as a full-fledged entry on the ISU list.
The time-stamp on the list is 17.11.2015 11:49:26.
As of now:
Johnson, Rabbitt and Rippon are the U.S. entries.

I am equally cynical, tulosai, and also agree it's more likely the latter. And by Plushenchrist, if they hold failing to qualify for the GPF against him at Nationals or in the selection for afterwards, I will raise holy hell!
8pm the SP starts! I could hardly believe it. Of course, the LP makes up for it by not finishing until 2:30am. But I am looking forward to watching our SnuggleBat in action again. I hope he can come out all guns blazing!
I really hope that's not the case, I mean he won Skate America! He's been the only American man to win a GP event so far this season. If the USFSA doesn't recognize that TEB was just something out of anyone's control and use that to drag Max down I'll be seriously disappointed.

Baby SnuggleBat (2007 Skate Detroit).
By my (rough) calculation he was approximately 15 years old here.
I've often wondered if our SnuggleBat's...er...dubious...camel position had something to do with the broken back. After watching this video I'm more convinced than ever, because this is possibly the only video we have of pre-broken Max, and his camel is quite good. He even has a broken leg position on the sit, well, sort of.
His camel is improving, but I wonder if it will ever get to where it was here.

Great stuff. Those jumps were absolutely
tonight. And watching his interactions with Mr Mills was very cool. Very stern-faced, Mr Mills, but he pulled Max in for a hug. I'd love to know what he said in Max's ear after he got off. Or what they were talking about in the kiss'n'cry, since there was no sound.
Also in cute SnuggleBat moments: he hugs the flower girls who look like their day just got totally made.
