Men's Short Program Start Order Up

Actually, I think he did take the mandatory 2 point pimple deduction (ISU judging system rule #51419.)
MM
Math,   Personally, I wondered what that had to do with his skating but then you made me realize there is a rule.   Lest one forget their own pimples.

Dee (pimples and all, at my age I pray for pimples, they make me look younger)

For those of us who have never given up on Brian Joubert, yesterday was fantastic. He is SO on when he's on, LOL!!!

Gettin' on a big old jet-airliner right now to make it up to Calgary in time to see his free skate.....fingers crossed...fingers crossed.....Sure - he's 3rd overall, but the scores are pretty tight - going to be an interesting fight tomorrow!

MM - I wish you were there! C'mon - jump on a flight!

His jumps looked more solid than i've seen in a long time - did you see the size of his flip? It looked almost too big and like he had to work hard to stop the rotation because of the amount of room there was in the jump. I'm still left wondering where the mandatory footwork into it is though?

Yay Eman! Yay Brian! So excited... doing the happy dance:chorus: :chorus:

Some random questions...
How is it that when our favorites aren't leading we cry bad judging?

Because as everyone knows, when your favourite doesn't win or lead its almost certainly because of the those crooked judges and not because anyone skated better than them!!!

How can we call something ridiculous when we haven't seen the performance?

That's because of the skating fan gene that every skate fan is born with (except for RD who isn't a fan but by some genetic accident received the gene nonetheless) which gives them an innate opinion on every aspect of skating and/or a skater's performance whether said performance has been watched or not!!

What the heck does pimples have to do with skating?

Have you never observed the pimple/skating win ratio pattern emerge? I myself once noted that Elvis Stojko had a propensity for lots of blackheads on his nose...he won many a world and canadian title through the power of pimples, then as if by magic (or the discovery of biore strips) they were gone and his ability to win world (though not canadian) titles ebbed...maybe Oda will follow in his footsteps?

I accidentally snipped the question about when will Li gets the marks he deserves? Maybe he needs more pimples...maybe i should revise my theory and the pattern is actually pimple/marks related rather than win related...hmmmm:scratch:

When will people stop trying to hook up Joubert when they know he's going to be the second Mr. Kwanford Wife?

A quick run down from what I've seen

Brian seems to be the top drawer for this.
Stephane has his work cut out
Emmanuel if he repeats his short performance will medal
Jeffrey is not at his best
Johnny is laboring in this competition
Oda with no quad will podium but not win (he's a house favorite)
Evan needs to perk up.

My take: Brian, Oda, Stephane

I guess we never know what could happen after last yr's WS.
Brian bombed on his LP last year and Oda like you said just isnt there yet. Forget Emma though, he will never skate well in front of home crowd, granted he is from Vancouver.

I expeect Stephanie;) to come out on top and Jeffery Buttle will challenge him for the gold. Brian does have what it takes to get his first gold, but his LP will be a timebomb.

Am I the only one who absolutely loves Lambiel's new SP? The choreography, the intepretation, the musicality, and especially the steps where he uses his entire body are all just amazing!! This is a program that IMO epitomizes everything I love the most about Stephane's skating. I hope he uses it again next season and skates it totally clean for my colletction!
