Men's Short Program

So everyone is waiting for the uproar scandalous already? Oooh, 2nd. It must be SO DISAPPOINTED for some people who got their knife ready

So Chan should have fallen 3 times...since he didn't fall, he didn't lead....Chan bashers are disappointed for sure, LOL

I'm beginning to think that you like it when Chan doesn't lead so you can continue making snarky, sarcastic remarks like these.

It's hard for me to understand why people think that chan should not have high PCS for SS and transitions and PE. And with this SP, I would say hi scores for the "artistic" remainder - it's got great choreo and great expression. Anyway, he didn't do a 3axel and didn't did the 4x3...so he's in third. The lowest I could see him is 4th....

Anyway, way to go Dai into second!!! this is awesome! and Javi in 1st...OMG!!! Can't wait for the LPs.

Congrats to Javy, Dai (top two in a virtual tie), and Adam--all exceeded themselves. An off night for Patrick but I'm sure he'll be back tomorrow.

MUCH better than the Ladies. : )

jettasian, the only person in this thread who I see making a big deal out of Chan is you.

Especially his axel was great

Exactly. And unlike so many other skaters tonight, Daisuke had good speed going into his jumps, particularly his axel.

Also, I've seen Daisuke live and up close and I never thought his jumps looked small at all.

Who says Patrick should receive better PCS scores than everyone else in the field, Puhleeze! As usual, held up for less than perfect. With mistake on the quad and throwing 2-axel, and presentation that really is not better than everyone else, I'd have had Patrick behind Adam. The Ripster was held down in the marks in any case, IMHO.

Right about that Jet... I can't stand the Pchid -- he ain't all that, no matter judges, fans and the great North love him as if he were the second coming.

Did you watch the show? Did you listen to what Tracey said? Despite his 4T wasn't perfect, he still got around 8-9 points because he fully rotated. He lost the base mark of around 6 points on the Axel. But he also had a great mind to add a 3+3 on his last jump.

But of course, basher will always be a basher, lol

Big understatement.

For me the ladies = whatever

It's a virtual tie between the top 3. They'd each have to really crumble to tumble off the podium. My heart is with Javi; he's never won a GP event before and I love to root for the underdog!

Come on, a lot of people were getting ready to start a bashing-fest....so it didn't happen. So must be disappointed for them.

Daisuke was amazing! <3.

I wish Kevin had been able to do better. I was hoping he'd maybe make the GP final in his (supposedly) last competitive season.
