Men's Short Program

Just how long did Adam telegraph that triple axel? :rolleye: Seems like it's still a problem jump for him. And he just doesn't skate with a lot of power and his jumps are so small.

I love love love Dai's short.

The height of sophistication and art.
Whoever said, Dai's jump is very small, you need your eye checked.

Just caught up , first of all Javier is unrecognisable, I dont believe it is the same skater as last year. The quad AND WHOLE PROGRAM <3
And then Rippon, how strange, he looks much better since he left Orser and Javier looks SO much better cause he went to Orser. Rippon program I really liked, so much energy, and different than the last year sleepy sp.
Daisuke:love:, the man among the boys!Loved it!

Yes, jet, and those who love bashing the so-called Chan-bashers, will always have a field day because the Pchid will always be held up when he's less than perfect. Par for the course. The three who skated much better than the chiddy this eve are Javi, Dai and Adam. Chan's in Canada, judges love him, he's the reigning World champion, that's ok Pchid, we'll always give ya a break and allow ya to get your feet going and give you confidence for the rest of the season and intimidate your lowly challengers. I give Chan cred for mastering quads, I don't give him cred for falling and receiving high scores and making mistakes and still receiving high scores. Puhleeze, his PCS should not be higher than everyone else's everytime, all the time, just as a given. He ain't all that.

Dai was fabulous. Could not take my eyes of Jav, well done. Patrick was a little off but still skated great as evidenced by his score.
Good skate for Adam too. Great skating from the men they did not disappoint. Great audience.

Do you seriously think that Patrick should have scored behind Adam? :disapp:

Dai barely beat him in PE and IN. I thought the only things Patrick had on Dai are SS and TR. In this particular event, his SS and TR should be lower. Dai should have won the PCS for this amazing SP.

I'm back after watching most of the second group on a big screen.

Patrick had a little stumble, clicked his skates together, before entering into the quad. I'm equally glad and proud as he that he still rotated his 4T though the turmoil carried over to his 3A which he doubld.

He admitted to being very nervous tonight being in front of home crowd for the season opener.

Congratulations to Jarvier, Daisuke, and Patrick! And Adam too. Go boys, tomorrow.

Who or what is Pchid or chiddy?
Your accusation about Chan's in Canada and judges' fave have no merit but just based your own bias. So no point to argue on that.

Daisuke: That music is wonderful for him. Really mature interpretaion, he brought out both the softmess and the percussive snappiness wonderfully.

Patrick: He'll have to be careful this program doesn't become a bit stale (if the judges care about that). I found his spins rather effective in this performance, better than I remember them being in this program.

Javier: That was really impressive, a wonderful performance, well choreographed, tons of charisma. Lack of flow in some areas, his score is rightfully close to the other 2, who are masters.

Adam: I really enjoyed this program, just as much as the other top ones. Very well interpreted, through to the climax ending.

Compared to Chan and Fernandez they are. He is also smaller so that is a factor. I do think he has a beautiful program.

It's so nice to see Javier at the top of the podium. i knew he had to leave Morosov's cutesey wootsie choreo for Men' skating.

Where did Fernandez train? He beat all those stars in that comp. Wonderful for him and for all underdogs.

loved to watch these sp's....wow. very exciting. can't wait until tomorrow. I can't get into this Rippon vs Chan thing...but I will repeat myself, this Rippon is the most joyful I have ever seen. what a change. And Javier, my goodness, what a change. But seriously, I thought Chan had mistakes but was amazing. I can't speak to Dai other than to say, wow. this is a great sp. Loved it all and just feel badly that KVP didn't do as well as he wished. If this is, in fact, his last season, I would love to see him at the GPF (and although he is using 'war horses', I love his music this year and want to see him as much as possible.). ok, unconnected rant over. onto quick dinner and dance!

Besides the spins, I think everything was the same right? I do like the new spins...very effective. They gave me a headache...looked so difficult to do.

PChiddy is his twitter, not a nickname.
Has Chan changed a bit his short choreo? This one is much better than the last year I remember, maybe I m wrong, I thought in some parts it is different.

This is just the SP, so unfortunately, Javi is not standing atop the podium just yet, having beaten all the stars in this comp. He now trains under Brian Orser.

I really will be shocked if tomorrow's story unfolds like today's. I expect Chan will have his feet under him better tomorrow.
